well thats not entirely new, even on viki or other streaming sites that have live comments section, its absurd that mostly viewers are female but 80%+ of those viewers always have something to say dumb and stupid if they dont like the female lead.. when in fact her character is not even that annoying, compare that to a psycho creep male 2nd lead, and those mostly have a portion of viewers that roots for that dude specially if hes better looking than the ml, even in chinese streams its so annoying that comments floods the stream live, things like the female looks ugly, she cant act, shes the reason series not doing well. her character is dumb, etc.. and those series have decent ratings here in mdl..

sure, up to you.. cant do anything if you interpret it that way.. each to our own..

its the regional airing date restrictions, basically they giving time for the primary broadcasters to air them exclusively, in which is stupid cuz netflix and viki could just increase the license fee by a few % not even that expensive tbh, given those two, both are quite expensive subscription streaming service, theyll probably release it next week lmao.. watch this last weekends planning to finish it this sat,sunday as i dont really feel watching when im busy weekdays guess ill watch the next 6 eps next saturday..

its harsher in terms of government in China, in SoKor its the people thats ass. projects gets shelved in china cuz if they release it people will just boycott it likely, and if proven guilty the government will literally wipe your name in every media possible, and blacklist you from appearing and if the publisher release it the government will do the same to them and everyone involved in that project unless ofc they do reshoots and such with a diffrent actors.. in sokor people will mostly scorn and turn their backs at you which will force you to Lay low for a while than the government blacklisting you, unless its a major crime.

anyone has any idea when netflix release the remaining eps? so dumb, ended like a week already still not fully released on subscription base. netflix and viki has some of the dumbest subscription releases sometimes, viki i know has been ass and lazy since forever and netflix has been following suit.

if your involved in any case in china your basically better off out of the limelight for the time being, cuz public opinion can go either ways, in her case an investigation like hers is actually fast in terms of length and from the start she actually seems indeed not guilty.. the problem is actually present in every country, it takes months for the legal authority to do investigations and to make it worse court hearings can also take months, like lets say authorities caught you this week, your first hearing can sometimes be scheduled till 2025, thats why it takes forever for legal cases to be settled.. and you as the party involved can do nothing but wait.

It was good overall but, could have been shorter. the common trend of 28-32 eps series would have been perfect for this, 40 eps is way too much especially with such a rushed ending, well not rush perse but it just kind of fell flat.

if you think S1 is meh. then the few first episodes of this one, let's just say everything regressed 😅😅😅 and honestly they should have just started from the start since its a remake anyways,

if censorship comes in they'll force the series to omit those scenes(unrealistic scenes) but the firefighters series I've watched this year imo is not bound to get censorship notice heck they'll even pass it as is as long as the firefighters are being promoted being treated as heroes etc, it does not contradict CN's censorship rules , being over the top is just the viewers POV and it is indeed true but from the censorships point of view it's fine cuz it promotes CN's way, the firefighter series are like a propaganda series anyways, it's the same a s some military and documentary series from CN, and besideds any drama that faces censorship basically are just force to omit those scenes, the writers and directors are force to make up stories to cover up for those omitted scenes or just removed them all in all. but in here personally i can't find fault for censorship to intervene, specially for an ending like this lol the novel ended with HE, theres no censorship needed there already.. the open ended ending basically is a BE all in all. cuz hes dead, imo it leaves a sour taste, cuz to fullfill your duties you need to die? thats way over the top for any censorship to suggest that kind of ending,, this is just writers personal change. a lot of writers have done this anyways.. deviate from the novel ending inorder to leave some sort of mark. but it always fail mostly..

censorship has nothing to do with this ending, it's the writers personal creative logic, censorship mostly affects some sort of propaganda logic in which can be interpreted by the viewers differently so censorship comes in, which this one lacks clear off, unless the ending portrays that being a firefighter is not good, the leads having a good ending wont get a censorship notice, it's just the writers stupid creative logic

could have been better if its shorter IMO, another case in which writer tries to be creative and change the ending, ended up flat. given it has a really okay ending albeit it is plain but due to the writer/directors creative logic tries to deviate from it ended up wasting a lot of people's time.. personally, i hate writers who does this, books,novels dramas movies are created as fictional stories and although the journey is worth it some sort of closure is needed, i don't mind an open ending if it is foreshadowed, heck sometimes it is better than a deus ex ending, but an open ending due to a deus ex logic is not worth it cuz it is completely nonsensical, not only does it lacks proper explanation but due to the "suddenness " of said ending it is completely out of context.. instead of an 8 to an 8+ went down to around 6.5 to 7.5, what could have been an AVERAGE lengthy but worthwhile series due to the leads end up MEDIOCRE in every aspect at best with an ending that comes crashing down.. the worst out of all the FireFighters series I've watched this year imo/ could have been best as i prefer the leads more.

okay, i just express my opinion on the drama so,
1.if i reassess my thoughts again still think i would come at the same concl, cuz IMO the romance IS pretty lopsided. if you think otherwise it's fine for me.
2. your actually right about that same reason why i said that the writer probably wrote the drama as what she wants in life.
3. drama episodes does not mean it's a slow pace romance, some start after the few eps and goes on stupid breakups etc.
4. if most people complain about side characters hogging unnecessary screen time means it is what it is, I'm just a part of the majority, and i don't give credit enough if the characters lack persona.is not likable and does not offer much to the story overall, I've no qualms on side characters as long as they have purpose, but here they serve little to none( networks trying to forward characters/actors is never a pass for me esp if they failed to integrate said characters)
5.for the romance, what my take on it is, first few episodes clearly says that he already liked her for the past 10 years or so, same reason why he's not in a relationship cuz he cant forget about her, be it admiring,idolised etc. it was portrayed that he already has feelings for her(if he only admired her then they portrayed him kinda wrong), if hes grateful for what she did in the past. a great transition imo, during the early phase of the drama the one where JB is being a drunk every few nights, they could portryed SY just helping JB get on her toes back on her life and directing career, (in which what they showed is fine already) and during the process of being grateful from the past transitioned into subtle love etc, this transition can go on till ep 15 or so, but it was not, as clearly imo YS already liked her without that transition phase. so for me the romance is lopsided from the start..

okay this feels like more of what the writer wants in life than an actual story.. too many annoying characters, i wouldn't call it a red flag, but the leads relationship is too one-sided IMO.. 36 eps for this nonsensical slice of life drama, they should have toned it down to 20-24 eps removed the useless characters, because some are really useless to the plot and ofc there's really the annoying characters like the mom etc. and most importantly balanced out the romance part, JB is pretty good a business partner and friend, but she shows some red flags as a partner, it looks good on screen because they looked good but at the end it's too one-sided for my liking.. slow burn romance is fine if IT is really a slow paced healthy relationship and for slow burn romance they still focus on the leads here its not really slow, the pacing of the drama is what is slow.. they focus on irrelevant characters that hogs all the screentime, that's the reason why it reach 36 eps not the romance part. heck the ml is already lovestruck from ep 1..

so is this at least watchable? I've watched a lot of dramas even low budget cwebdramas and i can watch nonsense lighthearted rom/com with some nonsensical logic at times, or is this just plain bad.. i like the cast so im contemplating starting this and was excited but it's nearly 7.5, by logic thats stupidly bad😅😂,

i get your point when it comes to CX improvement in terms of acting, and that is fine for me and it also is a good move, the problem here is, the lead is CDL, her fans sometimes acts very territorial and it could backfire beetween them two, you know who gets more love on the drama, more screentime etc, and CDL fans might go delulu same goes with CX, in which could affect them both as well as the drama overrall, my point is if they want CDL as the lead they could've gotten a 2fl that is a promising talent and that her fans wouldn't complain, theres tons of actresses that fill that, and the moment CX news although not confirmed yet, some of her own fans already does not like the idea of her playing the 2fl with CDL, im fine if both parties don't argue, but given that they have both big fans, it could go either way, if they want to cast multiple big names they should have thought if their fans would coincide or conflict with each other to avoid drama delays etc.
