i'm rewatching while waiting for the new episodes to come out. i forgot which ep but it was when CG was in Shouzhou.
A'dou and CG went to eat at a stall but forgot their money. the owner was making a scene because A'Dou ran away A'Sun came to the rescue and pay for CG's meal.
in the bts, Leo was struggling to get the money out of his bag/pouch so in the final cut, they just show him with the money already in his hand. rewatching this scene after seeing the bts was so funny. I couldn't hold myself back from thinking about it and laughing XD
To Changge, making sure people are protected and not sacrificed unreasonably in wars and bringing peace and prosperity…
well said on that last sentence. if you had watched up to ep 30, that is exactly what A'Sun said to She'er too when he killed someone very dear to A'Sun. "killing you won't bring her back to life"
there is a spoiler from the raw eps 25-30. continue reading only if you don't mind . . . . . . I don' know how you guys see it but for me I felt like LY's character was created to pay for the sin that her dad(Li Shimin) created. Her dad killed CG's dad, is the reason CG became a fugitive and had to be on the run for her life, and at the same time go through many hardships and losses. Everything that CG had to go through, LY also experienced them though exactly the same way, quite similar to CG's situation. the most noticeable one is probably both having a *little brother* and then losing him.
actually this story also takes place during the Jiajing emperor's late era. The Long Qing emperor's era didn't…
the long qing era only started at the very end of this drama. the year the sea ban was lifted was the year he became emperor, which was 1567. Long Qing emperor lifted the sea ban the same year he became emperor. Remember that everything that happens in this story happened over a course of 2 to 3 years. everything didn't happened in just one year so it can't be during the Long qing era.
and ever wonder why we don't get to see the emperor at all? it's because jiajing emperor don't care about court meeting. he only allows certain favored court officials to meet him and usually pass his decreed through his eunuchs. This is also the reason why Xu Lingyi wasn't able to get the sea ban lifted. it was only successfully approved after Jiajing died and long qing became emperor.
The crita setting of this tv series was during the era of the Long Qing emperor of the Ming dynasty, he is the…
actually this story also takes place during the Jiajing emperor's late era. The Long Qing emperor's era didn't happen until the ending of this series when the sea ban was lifted. I did some research, and found that both TSATB and UTP both were set at almost the same time. UTP's time setting might have actually happened a little bit before and probably into the time setting of TSATB.
if you have watched UTP, the villain there was a real person in history and his defeat happened in 1562. This means UTP must be around the late 1550s to early 1560s while in TSATB, sea ban wasn't lifted until the new emperor reign in year 1567. from this we can tell that TSATB must be sometime around the 1560s, during the late jiajing era. Hence both drama happened around the same time during the same emperor. it's such a coincidence that Seven Tan played two very different characters in two dramas set in the same time period.
sorry, i don't mean to be an a** or anything by correcting you. i'm just so surprise at this connection after i finally did some research on the real historical events. when i started this drama, didn't do my research and thought UTP might actually be after the sea ban but i was so wrong. I didn't expect that UTP's timeline was actually first.
CG: I'm call Li Chang Ge, i love this name AS:Chang Ge *breathe* (softly and sweetly this time) Chang Ge i just think it's sooo sweet the way he says her name. you can already feel his love and care for her through this!
If my love for Seven is not strong enough I would hate hurt for hurting Houye :(
that's good to hear. glad that my guess about it being their plan(i commented in another posts) was right if it had been real, my heartt wouldn't be able to take it anymore. like our main leads never get a whole week of just sweetness. there's always misunderstanding or problems in the week of new episodes that our leads have sweet moments together.
If my love for Seven is not strong enough I would hate hurt for hurting Houye :(
i don't hate her, but i'm just so mad at shi yi for hurting Houye again and again. and she also doesn't confide in him about anything but instead goes to Ou Yan xing. haven't watched the raws yet since i'm trying to refrain myself from spoiling the big plot so what i'm about to say next are just my assumption but i saw a clip in the ep 40s where she went to meet Ou Yan xing again and Lin Yi found the letter about their appointment to meet. I'm assuming she's doing it to protect Houye but she said some hurtful words to him and hurt his feelings again. why can't she just tell him things and ask him to play along with her? she's good at convincing Houye so i'm sure she'll eventually get him to agree with her plan if she just tells him.
at ep 34 when er niang snitched on shi yi about the truth of how her mom died and hou ye replied "Shi Yi is my wife. Of course she's honest with me on everyhting"
damn! this line hurts my heart so much. like, you know he's super hurt here. he said it to protect shi yi but we all know inside, he's deeply hurt to know the reason why shi yi married him and understand why she so easily believed he's her mom's killer TT_TT
Episodes 37 - 42 will be updated today!! I saw on their official weibo a/c and i think these are some of the points…
i have a feeling like if they really did divorce this time, it will all be just a plan since both lin yi and shi yi now knows that there's a Ou spy hiding inside the xu mansion. and with the cloth to be present to the emperor burnt, they are now more sure about or getting closer to who the spy is. but then that's just my thought
glad i'm not alone in still disliking this character. I just find it really annoying that he still addresses shiyi…
you should give it a try. UTP also takes place during the ming dynasty(and i'm assuming it's a time after this drama's time since there are legal sea businesses and fisherman) the leads acting are great in that one. it is also another slow burn romance. there are some annoying characters but the romance and chemistry between the leads was SUPER cute!
Maybe its just me but by episode 30 i was throughly annoye by and with That Lin/ Ou younger brother. Ugh. Leave…
glad i'm not alone in still disliking this character. I just find it really annoying that he still addresses shiyi by her name instead of her title. he's being too intimate. only family/master/spouse can call her that, and he's nobody. in ep29 when he went to help her, he shouldn't even enter their bedrooms. even if to put blanket on them, it's still inappropriate for a man to enter a married woman's chamber when she's sleeping all his actions are really putting shiyi at risk of an accuse of affairs. i have a long list of reasons why i don't like him but i'll stop the rant him. all in all, i just want to say, he's the most annoying character. reminding of the annoying xie xiao in under the power(they're both always all over the place wherever FL is)
It was my fault does not mean I KiLLED HER...ugh episode 27
that's exactly what i was saying! why did she suddenly become so stupid and not think things through. atleast stop for a second to suspect why all the clues given by an Ou person are suddenly pointing at her husband as the murderer. (idc if she's desperate to find her mother's murderer, but she wasn't this stupid before even in desperate situation. she had always work with a clear mind) I hurt and cried so much for our Hou Ye (ahhh, it just goes to show he's an excellent actor. all his pain can be seen in his face) both time when i watched the raw version and now with subs. actually i still tear up whenever i watch that scene TT_TT
Am I the only one who finds Shi Yinniang's character annoying? Maybe because I keep comparing her character with…
you see...when watching a novel adapted drama, never expects to see the same thing. only expect that the outline of the story is what the drama will only copy. as for the details of the story, many things will be changed or else the drama will be too predictable. I understand where you're coming from since i've had the same experience of seeing my books being adpated into a movie/drama but have the story changed completely. my suggestion is, never watch a novel adaptation drama with the expectation that everything will be the same or similar. no matter if it's an adaption or original story, one should start a movie/drama with an open mind I agree that this scriptwriter sucks and likes to ruin stories, especially the characters. But, don't you think giving it such a low rating base on that reasoning is a bit unfair to everyone that works so hard on this drama? A drama should be rated on its performance, not in comparison to its original source or other drama(in which i see a lot of other people commenting in do) and i don't mean to offend you or anything at all. i'm not even bias towards any of the actors/actresses.
