It's not that annoying, but it adds nothing to story. So, I feel like it's time wasted.
Agree. Unless it's a prelude to a major conflict that will occur between the two males.

pLEasE UnDerSTanD tHE CulTuRal DiffERenCe. When why people disagree with the way taliban treat women? It's a matter of cultural difference too, yet WE CAN DISAGREE. For me it's not humane to be violente. It's "not that deep" for you? Fine. I can still express my point without being attacked.

Those scenes also made me feel uncomfortable, especially as her "fake" assaults became more serious (i.e. blood).…
Glad I'm not the only one. Seeing how people called me names just for saying I don't like the scenes makes me understand why male victims rarely speak up about abuse.

How is being violent to your loved one NOT DEEP? LMAO

The media have an influence on the society tho. And with such messages the influence is a negative one. I'm free to not like it. Once blackface was used in comedy too. It doesn't mean it was something right to do just because it's fiction and entertainment. Plus it's a romcom set in our world and our time, so no, it's not completely separate from the reality. For the same reason the shows can't show things like child rape just because they are not "real".

OK, but why not? Both are human beings that need to be respected. Period.

in abusive relationships the abusers say that didn't mean to hit the partner too and can show remorse too, so it's not a good justification to me personally. Also I think her character is more sorry for the fact they couldn't see each other, than for her behaviour.

relax, this is a romcom
Sure, the context does matter. It's not a justification tho. Even in case of self-defense the response should be adeguate to the provoking action, right?

Would you say it's not abuse to a women who's being hit by her bf in front of others? At the beginning it looked like the villagers were defending him, but at the end of the episode they showed they were actually joking and using it as a way to separate them. Even worse, the lady from the Chinese restaurant hit him too, saying "Why are you so weak?".

WTH is wrong with her? Why does she have to hit him? Imagine if the roles were inverted! We want equality right?…
Some said it's a matter of how strong you are. So a child can hit her mother and make her bleed as a comic scene now?

It depends on your sensibility and pov I guess. Some say catcalling isn't harassment, others get fired for doing it to a colleague. It's a bit "funny" tho how we demand to be respected physically and verbally, but at the same time (some) laugh at a sis hitting a man in public.

I hope so too! The topic of metal health is a big deal, they need to give it time.

She made him bleed, so... Yes, she is slightly less strong than him (the actress is not a little girl and her character studied martial arts), but that doesn't mean he should endure her being violente in silence. He can stop her. The fact that he is a man suddenly makes the scene "comedy" for some reason. The double standard is real.

It's not normalized, but more, used as something funny. Abusing your boyfriend OR girlfriend shouldn't be funny.

Nobody said the scene should be censored, they just had to make it more clear that abuse is not ok, regardless of the gender, otherwise it passes a dangerous message.

Yeah. This drama would have been on its way to cancellation. But the society still uses double standards, unfortunately.

It's dark comedy I guess. There are people who laugh about slavery, Shoah and abuse. I'm not one of them and I was disgusted by the scenes. I'm not trigghered by watching violent scenes at all. They happen in crime and thrillers all the time. It's the message that disgusts me. It should be condoned, not laughed at.
