I feel like I'm in a tiny minority of people who don't like this show. Each episode just leave me with more frustration.…
I think it's average. Classical low budget xianxia with cliché plot and so-so acting. In some points I even have deja vu with other dramas...The CGI and the concepts are pretty nice tho and there are a couple of characters I like if I forget that thy kill intelligent beings to get stronger in fights...just because.
They have to, because the powerful prey on the weak and Xiao Wu don't like meat because she's a Rabbit(soul beast)…
She threw it up in front of them and clearly stated it made her nauseous. So, no. That was clearly not the case. They simply couldn't give a * , no one really asked why it made her feel like that.
I don't get all the time (like lots of scenes in 14 episodes) they've wasted on making all this big of a deal about Ou Si Ka's power. It's spoiled in the opening and is not even that particular or as funny as they make it to be. Annoying.
At the beginning Tang San was like "don't worry, we will kill only the bad ferocious beasts", then they kill that…
What makes it worse is that THEY KNOW soul beasts have consciousness. Tang San knew that spider was intelligent enough to recognize him and had human feelings, like the desire to get revenge, YET he doesn't care if other soul beasts they kill also had families, feelings, were intelligent beings...
They have to, because the powerful prey on the weak and Xiao Wu don't like meat because she's a Rabbit(soul beast)…
The power dynamic is what makes it worse from psychological pov. There is a reason why there is such a thing as statutory rape. He's her direct superior, teacher and adult, kids are more vulnerable against those figures (and are more pron to learn from them through deferred imitation).
They have to, because the powerful prey on the weak and Xiao Wu don't like meat because she's a Rabbit(soul beast)…
In war they would leave out someone who doesn't want to kill, but again, that's a personal moral choice, they had no right to force a teenager to do something she doesn't want to and that goes against her morals.
I believe that the whole ethical question of human vs spirit beast and their endangerment doesn't get addressed…
exactly my problem with them... Don't know if you have seen the Wolf , but it has similar moral hypocrisy. The protagonist [SPOILER of first couple of eps] wanted revenge for his family of wolves, but he killed some tigers himself and no one cared about the family of the tigers...because..Plot? Some lives matter more than the others? Yeah...
They have to, because the powerful prey on the weak and Xiao Wu don't like meat because she's a Rabbit(soul beast)…
Even if she was just a human, it's still her moral choice not to eat it. Pressuring her to do it, was the same level of psychological manipulation as those of predators convincing minors they HAVE TO lose their virginity. That is wrong with their brains???
At the beginning Tang San was like "don't worry, we will kill only the bad ferocious beasts", then they kill that poor winged red snake, that was crying and no one bats an eye. The scene where they forced Xiao Wu to eat meat despite the fact that she loves animals and is vegan is just ... wrong. It was like watching cannibalism. They keep on killing off spiritual animals just to get stronger. It makes me so mad...
