Ep 25Finally!! Ji Bozai - what a lousy detective - figured out her true identity… for the past 2 eps it was…
It's her who should've felt that. He didn't wrong her. She failed to steal from him, even through deception and seduction.

It was ok, but not all that.Everything was overly formulaic. Not a lot stood out when compared to other good dramas…
Less subtle? Her lips were barely moving during many scenes. Several times I didn't realize it was her speaking.

It’s funny everyone annoyed that she was lying to him, but when he was lying to her later on about his relapse…
See? Mostly about herself.
(The Master excuse only happened much later. She had several chances before that)

She said that after. And he was pretty surprised. He was not aware of the extent of her love for him. She kept him second guessing.

Look, I don't like any lies in a relationship, but your comparison doesn't make sense. The fact that you even compare people's reaction to her repeated lies most of which were to save herself, with his one lie to save her some grief sounds beyond biased to me.

ML is deathly sick and needs the plant antidote that only SITU has.But then we see ml (looking totally fine) and…
Yes. Her heart blood could give him, as Buxiu said before, a few more hours.

She confirmed it because it was already out in the open. Had he not figured it out, she wasn't planning to ever tell him. So no, it doesn't make sense for her to think they're past lying, when she never was the honest one. Even he doesn't think that she's suddenly stopped being a habitual liar. He just accepted it as part of her. They were never past that. It'll probably take years for her to get used to being honest.

Him slowly dying refers to his poison. Yes. She'd most probably have to watch him die. The sacrifice plan was only the best option if she didn't know, because it'd completely cover up the truth about his poison flaring back up.

What she'd feel without him, was gonna stop happening by him telling her? It wasn't. He was still gonna die. Only difference is if she knew, she was gonna feel worse, because she'd know he sacrificed himself for her.

His thinking was quite realistic. He was gonna die anyway, and she seemed quite capable of living without him. Why burden her to watch him slowly die, knowing it was in exchange for her life?
And moved past what exactly? Her lies and his, were completely different in nature. Not to mention she didn't come clean on her own, it was he who figured it all out. So the sentence "she thought they moved past it" makes no sense from her pov.

I'm sorry, but you really can't tell the difference.
First one could save her life and his trust. Second one could bring what good exactly? Feeling of debt? Unnecessary regret?

Seriously? You really can't tell the difference between
"dear lover, I'm dying and only your antidote, for which you apparently have no use, can save me"
and
"dear lover, I'm dying because I had one antidote and I gave it to you"
?

maybe this drama won't be the right fit for you - FL and ML are grey characters, they aren't your typical perfect…
She starts showing signs of remorse in episode 16. In 19 she unconsciously confessed. In 22 she painfully regrets her initial lie. In 23 she faces the consequences. After that a few episodes of weird interactions untill JBZ figures her out. In 26 he finally gets her to admit she's Ming Xian.

You're not alone btw. Lots of people complained during those episodes. But while her aversion of being honest with him is frustrating, the show is still worth the watch imo, specially the last 10 episodes.

No she definitely wronged him, but she has a good heart and she learned from it.

The Empress' acting has been very confusing to me, and I mean the acting of the actress, because in her scenes…
maybe she did care a bit for Ming Yi or felt sorry, but decided not to show it, so that MY could leave and have a peaceful life, instead of staying and going down with her.

I dare any male lead in any c-drama when a love interest tells him will you choose me or the FML in around ep30…
Like many of her dialogues, this one rubbed me the wrong way too, but I chose to ignore it because I was tired of reading essay-long replies of her fans. I dismissed it as the writer trying something there. It's the trend anyway. For many writers this is the low effort way to present a "strong FL".

So the dumb emperor effectively killed his son. Why didn't JBZ say that MY is his wife to save her, and why did she attempt fighting the emperor in front of all his guards? So what if they were arrested? JBZ could negotiate for her and her father's life.

they're a couple who started off with lies and then built most of their relationship up on truths like gotta respect…
Yes. Underneath the misunderstandings, they've always been more or less on the same wavelength. Though different in approach, they're both loyal, playful, proud, wishing to protect the innocent, etc. Their ideals and personalities simply match.

Sadly, they are real in irl as well...
I'd understand hating the child if he even remotely was the reason for her sister's death or the danger to her niece. But on the contrary, she agreed, albeit reluctantly, because she knew by taking the child's place, her niece could have a bigger chance at surviving. There's no reason for her to despise him so much to the point of leaving him there defenseless.

It's great that they made up before she found out that he gave her the cure. He wanted her to love him, not the guy who gave her the cure, and she confirmed that her heart doesn't have a price. Respectable.

No SML will ever be as infuriating as the one in Love and Redemption.
You too have a good time 😉
