I'm kinda proud of Phuwin for how much he's improved in terms of acting. He's a lot more natural now, still a bit stiff when it comes to skinship, but way better than his previous role. I can't say the same for Pond, I'm not sure if it's the role, but he's not giving me anything, it's like watching Edward Cullen or smth, he's not emoting anything.
Anyways, I wasn't expecting to like every single couple, this has never happened to me so I'm impressed so far. A light drama where not even the "dumb" characters are annoying. Really like it so far.
it's not finished yet, so i wouldn't give a definite answer yet. if you like joondunk and you think they have good chemistry, i'd say you'll like it. the plot is kind of messy, other comments here explain it better, but what i personally think is the problem is that the series lacks a good conflict/a good villain. everything is resolved in 1/2 eps and we can't figure out what the hidden agenda is or if we already know it and it really /is/ that cliche. but yeah, lots of overused tropes. if you want to watch this, i'd say to just go with the flow and not overthink the plot. who knows, maybe we'll have a big plot twist at the end but i wouldn't hold my breath.
the real mystery is how they're going to stretch this out till episode 12😂😂i said it once and i'll say it again, this would have been a great sweet lighthearted romcom movie. i don't get why they forced it into a series, it's just not enough material to work with. i haven't read the novel yet, but i doubt it's any better tbh. questionable acting aside, joongdunk have good chemistry. the bed scene was well executed imo, way better than other series which makes me wonder how that's possible given dunk's not so stellar acting in the rest of the eps. anyway, i'm actually enjoying this. i try not to give the plot much thought and just go with the flow. some comments here are a bit dramatic. i've watched way worse series than this one lmaoo. to each their own i guess🤷🏼♀️
I'm confused... Is Zo about to be mad to find out Joke only pretended to help him win over Nita? Was that not…
i was also wondering the same thing. i mean, i know what joke did wasn't ok, but is it really bad enough to represent the climax of the story and the reason they could maybe breakup/have their biggest fight yet? i guess in zo's eyes (who was already played once by his previous crush/ex best friend) it might look worse but idk. I'm seriously hoping for a good plot twist but i don't think this is the kind of series that could deliver one😅
literally forcing myself to wait *at least* one more ep until I watch this so I can binge watch but I'm currently living off of random spoilers. and losing my mind😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
i normally hate bully romances but these bullies are so incompetent and sailom is so freaking smart that it's hilarious and sooo satisfying to watch him one up them every time!!!
on another note, i feel so sad for sailom. he's been trying to stay strong for so long, all by himself and he's so young...life has been treating him horribly and future romantic relationship aside, I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing him get his happy ending.
also, i really hope kang isn't faking his friendliness. he needs someone to give him a good shake and teach him how real life actually works because he needs to grow up at some point. I'm guessing sailom will be the one to help him seeing as they're such a good match.
overall, I'm pleasantly surprised. most of my criticism when it comes to bully romances is that they always overromantisize that part, but i haven't gotten that feeling from sailom and kang's story yet. it might be because sailom is so good at defending himself and kang's evil plans always fail, so the power dynamics are all off and sometimes (or actually most of the times) it seems like the one pulling the strings and having the upperhand is actualy sailom. regardless, i am genuinely enjoying this and I'm glad i gave it a chance. looking forward for more!
right before watching the preview for ep8, i was about to comment that this show's biggest problem is that it lacks a good villain. apparently, there's going to appear one in ep8. but seriously? in ep 8/12? idk how to feel about this. dunk and joong did say in that interview that ep8 is their favourite so the big reveal better be good!
i wasn't going too give this a chance because c'mon, a bully romance? in 2023?? but i saw some scenes and i ended up watching ep1. I'm going to keep watching because i cannot WAIT until sailom SNAPS because let's be real, he is actually the insane one in this and I'm thrilled! the fact that he keeps outsmarting kanghan? ohohohoho i still have mixed feelings about the plot but the acting is good and maybe just maaaybe they won't mess up kanghan's character arc. just like in f4, for me, kanghan is already irredeemable and his sad backstory will probably not move me. but I'm curious to see what they'll do with all this.
are they...recycling the simm plot? like seriously speaking, if i didn't know any better, I'd think the 2 shows were connected or smth because the whole "I've liked you from the beginning" trope? the sunflower metaphor???? THE SUNFLOWER METAPHOR! that's too much imo. are we gonna find out this is a parallel universe or smth?😂😂😂because otherwise, i see no excuse for them to literally copy and paste the plot (and to have the audacity to not even make it more interesting akdkskskjsksksk)
Maybe Dunk should have gotten a character that's closer to his irl personality so that he wouldn’t look like…
Side note, but i actually really liked their first kiss. It seemed pretty natural. Dunk's character is the one who took the initiative and he didn't look hesitant at all, so again, maybe this is the type of character that suits Dunk better? Idk idk
Maybe Dunk should have gotten a character that's closer to his irl personality so that he wouldn’t look like he's struggling so much. It's crazy to me how JoongDunk's dynamic is more fun to watch irl than it is on camera when they're acting. Like why did they give them the exact same type of characters like in their last series?? Did they not see how much Dunk was struggling to act lol Look, I'm pretty unbiased since I'm not really a "stan" of them or whatever. I like watching them together. The only reason why i watched SIMM and i gave this series a chance was because i had seen a few clips of them in some interviews and they seemed so friendly and comfortable with each other. It's crazy how that chemistry barely translates in their acting. Not saying they don't have chemistry at all...but c'mon...ppl saying Dunk isn't ready for a main lead role have enough reasons to say it. Idk, again, if they really really wanted them again to be main leads in a series, then they should have given Dunk a role that he looks more comfortable acting and imo that would be a role closer to his irl personality which seems sassier and more confident (from what I've seen so far! again I'm not really a fan, i don't really follow them) Anyways, all these essays in the comments tho, are they really worth writing? At the end of the day, "hate comments are better than no comments" 😅😅
Guys....i don't think it's gonna get any better than this😭😭 This could have actually been a cute 90min romcom movie, i dont understand why they forced it into a 10 ep series...
