My theory: hwal and sung un are original bulgasal and that memory they share is a misunderstanding between the two. Sung un is peaceful bulgasal and maybe even help humans and those pple that died were close to her , and since ok eul tae os greedy and want to be powerful he had to set a trap to make hwal and sung un to clash and fight each other so he can benefit from it :

Either to convince hwal to give up on his power to him so hwal can reincarnat as human and live normal and face the same thing that sung un as an atonement for what he caused.

Or make hwal kills sung un so he can interfere and make his ritual/ steal sung un powers and that's why hwal take off ok eul tae heart so that he can't benefit from sung un power

It seems like all the killing of sung un family and her people were done by by ok eul tae even the one they show us as memory it is for sure ok eul tae doings and always was the misunderstanding between the two. I think it was hwal choice to suffer and be killed by bulgasal (sung un) so they end the cycle but hwal doesn't remember about anything. So he hold grudges.

My 2nd theory: is the real time of this dilemma wasn't 1000 years before but it was way before it. I think sung un decided to be human and leave hwal alone so she gave ok eul tae her power since she wants to experience human life but ok eul tae can't become a full bulgasal since the original one is still alive and he cannot be a full bulgasal since he didn't exist as one from the beginning so he make a massacre and make bulgasal guilty and sung un killed him and became a bulgasal .

Unfortunately i was disappointed with this drama . too much unnecessary twists events the drama could have been 34 episodes or less.
The acting was good . It could have been done better if they filmed it like royal nirvana, the rise of phoenixes
I liked a lot Mickey he acting but i feel like he was acting in different drama . When the camera focus on him or he has his own scenes i noticed his acting is too much for this drama.
It could have been better if he used his acting in better dramas. He was so soaked in the character that it overshadows others acting .

Qi yan the emperor died. But at the end there was a hint that he didn't but it can be just what the producer wants

Si ho seems very suspicious to me. We still don't her character, like who is the father does she really have no idea about her past life.

I have couple of things to criticise that would have been done in better way

1- FL clothes doesn't match the color pallete of the drama , am not asking here that she should from high brand but at least the clothes should be color wise similar to the drama color pallete.

2- the FL should get better dialogue more depth and meaningful dialogue. I think K FL has developed a lot and had more personality. Here i feel like I am watch 2009 2011 ~ type of FL like she is selfless etc...

3- It became boring that each time they should meet those monsters and they have to fight...... and nothing about the FL doing smth to regain her twin sister memory ???.
