There is one scene in particular in the third episode which hits close to home. Although I have not seen, many, however, I'm going to miss Miura sans work.
3 mins in, the story may be confusing at first but gotta say pretty surprised with the production and quality of this drama. An eye-catching intro and a psychological vibe to it, nice! 8/10
Some of the acting from the side characters can be a bit too exaggerated but other than that cute pair (although I have a feeling they may not last). We will see! Finished the first episode and we got some character development from the main lead! 7.5/10
This film gives a raw perspective on the relationship between the two girls over time. If you are used to seeing relationships forming straight away, then this film may not be for you.
I to was also feeling lost during the midpoint of the film. However, the story reveals there is more to a person than meets the eye. There is no overediting or overacting which I appreciate from this film.
During the last ten minutes of the film, it reminded me of the plot point to Kase-san (Asagao to Kase-san) except there are layers to the characters. Although Kirishima has less character story compared to Endo if we reflect on the actions and behaviours of both characters, we could sense an idea on their reasoning.
I also agree with the comments; this film could have been shorter. Although I appreciate the calm atmosphere and scenery, the director and producers could have cut some of the long takes.
It was a good casual film to watch. I guess what motivated me to complete this film was because I found myself resonating with Endo and Kirishima, their situation of finding themselves and their purpose, their roles in life. Especially in this covid situation, I am not entirely clear on the outcome of my career. However, there is hope in finding what you are interested in doing and going for it.
Judging from the first episode, I do wonder if their budget went into the promotions rather than the actual product (drama series). The structure of the drama is more fitting for an anime setting. I've tried to focus on the plot to give it a chance. However, a little disappointed in the execution of this series.
Basically to summaries the ending, Kenichi got himself a new piple because the first one self-destructed herself because she analysed maybe it's best for Kenichi to love a human rather than AI. Piple concluded her decision from situations such as Kenichi being kissed by the creator of the AI and running into his ex-lover.
For the side characters,(I won't go through all but highlights) Shukugawa (one of the head workers at Kenichi's company) turns out to have an attraction towards Takuma (Kenichi's Best friend). Shukugawa was also keeping an AI version of Takuma despite having a disagreement towards AI and Human marriage (because he couldn't possibly). Later on, Shukugawa disposes of his AI due to being discovered by Kenichi and Human Takuma.
While we focus our love triangle arc and climax of the show, off-screen, Shukugawa was developing a love potion (chemical liquid) that would potentially make someone love the person who they see after drinking it. In the end, it suggests that Shukugawa intends on using it on his best friend. (I found this part to be conflicting as he promised he would move on).
For Piple and Kenichi's arc, Kenichi receives a new Piple model however, similar to the ending of wall.e, Piple gives a gesture that the first Piple model used to always show to Kenichi. This may suggest not all of Piple is gone and they could have a fresh start to their relationship.
The film was alright, but it felt odd that shooting someone many times doesn't kill them, which takes you out of the story.
The beginning and end don't make sense. The reveal of who survives doesn't match up with the ending. Did the director make two versions of the film cause I watched the one on Netflix o.o
The ending gives us an open end, a hint of continuity. If the producers decide to make a sequel, they could try getting better marketing for the film and a much large-scaled storyline.
The film was okay; it did not completely bore me. However, I was expecting more focus towards the suspense and action elements rather than having characters standing around and discussing for half of the film.
Despite the many characters having surface-level backstories, it was enough to grasp the understanding of each character and still made me interested and engaged with them.
The person responsible for the mogul became predictable pretty quickly if you put the puzzles together. It surprised me how the whole, which is the 'primary personality' part was a plot-twist I thought it was evident from the start that kagura was the alternative. Nino was excellent, love it when actors can work with a range of genres.
