I believe one of the reasons this series got so popular in Japan and trended worldwide on Twitter is because it did not focus on the sexual aspect of a gay relationship that many bl dramas tend to do. Instead, they focused more on building the characters and storyline, which may be relatable to the audiences whether they may be LGBT or not.
The only way to watch this film at the moment is to order the DVD from Japan. I guess the film was not as popular in Japan for someone to upload it online.
