To stop the flood and the growing anxiety because QingZhou sent soldiers around LiangCheng. Prince XieYue (BFX’s…
@Arte_Miss is correct. Basically Liang City is a border city between QingZhou and YongZhou that easily floods annually in the spring when rainfalls are heavy. Instead of actually building proper water ways and dams, the original governor from YongZhou was hoarding the money for his own riches and using the soldier for his own use. QingZhou's king sends female lead's brother Prince XieYue because they were afraid that the governor would use the soldiers to attack QingZhou and sent their own soldiers to watch the borders. LanXi is sent with 500 more soldiers to 'deal' with the situation. He chooses get rid of the corrupt governor and proposed a truce with QingZhou so that both sides can benefit from a dam that will prevent further harm to the citizens that would otherwise be victims of flood and war.
it was really good for the first 28 episodes. i really enjoyed it. - qiu yan can be annoying bc she puts everyone…
qiu min had a complex about her sister and a hill she couldn't get over. her letting jiang yun almost kill her sister was her being reminded that she can't be like her sister. but she actually tries to sacrifice herself because as she says in the last episode "i once actually really liked you, but in all my jealousy over the years, i forgot that". plus sacrificing herself, allowed her to finally get over that hump and feel like she did more than her sister for once.
i don't deny that her character is stupid, but i think this is a representation of everyone who is salty and jealous of someone who is "doing better" in their life. And to show what is being selfish and how to get past that.
it's fun to watch a drama where the girl is not the one falling into the romance first. She is independent and has her own opinions, merely wanting to live her own life. The ML falls in love with her strength!
There won’t be any over the top sweet scenes but that’s the theme through out the show. You will get some…
oh the scene i'm talking about is the one between the male lead and the emperor HAHAH they stare into each other's eyes and then start striping. i found it hilariously dramatic
just finished the show. the ending is kind of extra (could have happily ended it at ep 46), but i think it's 'realistic'.…
Good catch! I didn't watch past the credits the first time, but just went back and rewatched it. I would say it's a happy ending. The Emperor lived way past when he should have anyways and got to love someone new and have a child with them, so he got closure in a sense.
Unfortunately, high expectations are met with higher disappointments in this drama. The plot was not at a good…
just finished the show. the ending is kind of extra (could have happily ended it at ep 46), but i think it's 'realistic'. not everything is going to end happily. The Emperor wanted to be free and feel pain, and he ended up with what Fang JianMing feared the most. But overall, they were still able to save the country that they spent their life protecting. I think the last few minutes between the main female and the little prince hints that the prince's "teacher" is actually Fang JianMing who is still recovering from the blood curse to save the little prince. The ending resolve all of three couple relationships. I think the quote "Nothing is eternal. Eternity is a construct of human persistence" represents the drama best.

**Just got to ep 45, which i feel like i should just stop at this point since everything seems happy right now lol** so i don't know the ending yet
I think the main couple's relationship kind of gets explained in the middle. Haishi constantly says to her teacher "you're really not that much older than us" and "you were but a teen too when you took me and ZhuoYing in". It shows two main things to me: 1. The teacher was thrust into this position at a very young age and explains his personality of shouldering all the pain himself and not sharing his troubles. 2. Haishi does not view him as a father figure, but rather someone she's willing to lay down her life for because he always tried to shelter her and she always worked hard for him
I think Haishi showed growth over the episodes to better understand her teacher's actions and views. I think JianMing shelter her too much and didn't even share that he was investigating the pearl incident that caused her father's death and allowed her to resent the emperor.
Hwang JunJie i think is just to help JianMing realize his own emotions towards Haishi and also to show us how single-mind of a love Haishi had for JianMing that no one else had a chance to gain her love.
I definitely agree that the Emperor's role had a more dynamic change getting over his old relationship and moving on, and it always showed his inner kindness. It took forever for Fang JianMing to realize how to better express his own emotions and share his burden.
side couple would be FL's sworn sister + ML's little brother. they met when the sister was on an assassin mission to steal the medical book from ML's mansion. She quits the assassin group because she falls in love with ML's little brother and tries to restart her life as a business woman, which is when she finds and saves the FL. ML's little brother is a bit of a derp and doesn't realize her feelings, and still thinks she's after the medical book and wants to "change" her for good.
This synopsis totally reminds me of the Chinese manga/anime called 法医狂妃(Forensic Princess)! The anime…
Yes! i read the synopsis and immediately thought of that manga. There's an english version called "Forensic Concubine" on WebComics app for android. I'm glad i can watch something with an ending haha the manga gets released so slowly.
his mustache fetish is because he is an eunuch and doesn't have the hormones (testosterone/DHEA) to grow a beard…
there's only cheek kissing. i dont think there was any full on kissing. none of the main squad will betray each other. they're all working in each other's best interests. i enjoyed the strong bond of trust they all have!

he asks for her hand in marriage around ep 28. but they always have a good, trusting relationship. i watched it at 1.5x speed and finished the whole series in 5 days so nothing is slow for me haha.
the CGI and artistry of this movie was beautiful but the build-up and reasoning behind the villain's actions were completely lost. the villain did not have a compelling or relatable backstory and he was portrayed as completely evil without a thread of humanity, which doesn't draw any sympathy or connection with the audience. the female lead's role was very weak and the ending wasn't satisfying. the triumph against evil was at a great cost that didn't justify anything. the whole plot was very predictable. that is not to say the acting was bad, just the storyline wasn't well developed.
Personally liked this one over Yin-Yang Master 2021. There's a bit more mystery in this plot and the characters all contribute to the story. there is also a lot of humor/bromance that keeps it entertaining. it's not perfect but it's a bit more compelling than the other movie.

can't just kill someone because they seem evil haha. the main characters need solid evidence to present their case against his actions. the eunuch has been there for 3 different reigns already so he has a lot of people who work for him. the king is also looking for a valid reason to get rid of him or else the king will like a unreasonable person who just kills off people at random.

im just so curious how Ye Xiu Du doesn't recognize Qing Luo since he never lost his memory, or did he?
