This just keeps improving. On a whole different level to say 'Fighter of the Destiny'' , which I couldn't watch,…
It's probably closer to Ever Night than to Fu Yao. Fu Yao is more main couple romance/struggles. This drama is more like Ever Night in that it focuses on greater cause that pushes everyone's decisions. The male lead's struggle to stay kind/pure hearted in the midst of a muddled martial world. The female lead doesn't even appear until eps 25. There's a lot of backstory and underlying conflicts that pre-date the male lead.
After reading the comments below. it seems that the first 24eps includes both season 1 & 2 (12eps each). Probably because eps 12 wasn't a particularly notable place to end a season. Really looking forward to a season 3. The ending resolves a little bit, but also throws a bunch of new information/initiates a lot of new character lines, which could probably use another 24eps to figure out.
He's very good a playing roles that walk the fine line of caring/loving and ruthless/evil! In Condor Heroes, his rage and anger are palpable. In Goodbye My Princess, he could go from playing a submissive fool to his enemy and turn around to smirk. Hope to see more works from him!
its kind of upsetting that the director didn't want to cast her because she was a 'nobody' at the time. but because…
She did get the role cuz she is under Fan Bingbing's agency when Fan Bingbing turned down the role. I don't deny her acting made me cry every time she cried, just curious if the agency is pushing for her to cover Fan Bingbing's roles.
Yes, he really loved her. When he first met her, he was thinking of using her. But then, as they spent more time…
i would say he truly loved her, but to quote the drama itself "No one is born knowing how to love another". Li Cheng Yin never learned to cherish and support her. You can see why, when you see the Emperor (his father) interact with others. They both try to protect and care for the one they love, without consideration of how the loved one feels, this results in the loved one becoming isolated and caged. Both men believe that just their love is enough, that the lady doesn't need family or friends. They're selfish and their love in turn is also selfish. Xiao Feng is the opposite. She is young (15-18years old) and naive, but she was raised to be kind and selfless. She feels guilt for her actions and the results of her actions because she is selfless and caring of others including family, friends and her country.
i was confused why season II was 2015 but this was 2019 and why the film quality was low compared to current historic/fantasy dramas. thank you for the explanations below!
It would be great if someone did this for China too! I would love to but my Chinese watch list and overall knowledge…
This is a dumb question but how would I go about making an article like this? I can't find the place to post an article. I would love to make a simple article.
we already has a whole series: New Legend of White Snake (1992) Madame White Snake (2006) Legend of the White Snake Sequel (2010) Sorcerer and the White Snake (2011)
And now three separate remakes: Destiny of the White Snake (2018) Legend of the White Snake (2019) New Madame White Snake (2022)
omg this inspires me. I wonder if anyone has done the same with chinese dramas? I have an on-going list of dramas I've watched with their historical time period correlated.
I agree that the beginning is irritating. I even dropped it after 2eps when it first came out. This time I was bored and need something to watch. It only really gets good at about eps 25. The biggest difference in the relationship between the main leads from other stories after about ep30 is that they both can guess and understand what the other's plan is to protect them, so there's never truly any misunderstandings. So there's never the "how can you not see the truth!!"
if you ever get bored and want to restart. I think ep 28 has a good flashback sequence that summarizes the storyline before that point haha
I have the link for episode 61 raw here if anyone needs it https://vod4cn.com/drama-episodes/天乩之白蛇传说-episode-61/
to be honest, episode 61 didn't change much. it's still a mystery to me if both of them are both actually alive or not. sigh. i was like the rain stopped or something and then cut scene to them walking together in the blossom fields to look at her clay statue.
just curious but what was he doing between graduating in 2003 to his first list drama in 2015 (excluding the 2011 movie)? are there drama's not listed that he's done before this time?
