I just finished watching this mini series and I don't know why it took me a year to watch this (or maybe it was because I was so fed up and felt nauseous with anything remotely related to the corona virus last year...) but I found it super cute and fluffy. Also, I really appreciated the combo Taiwan-Japan ♥
The amount of unnecessary drama and tears in the last episode was ridiculous and totally out of context, Mangkorn was NOT gonna go fight a war and NO Yai, being away from your loved ones who are still alive is NOT the same as being away from your beloved ones who passed away! And all this drama for that emotionless reunion?! A very boring ending episode for a very mediocre series. 6.5/10
I know it sucks Koichi had to die in that accident but If you think about it, all this time Mitsuru and Koichi are spending together after that fatal accident is a precious gift. I mean people die every day without having the chance to say goodbye to their loved ones but Koichi has been granted extra time after his death and that is an incredible gift. It's just one way of seeing things and I have no idea how this story is going to end but I think there's always a way to look on the bright side even after the worst tragedies.
Watched the first 2 eps. the way they're telling the storyline is a bit confusing to be honest and I personally didn't find the plot to be captivating so far. That said, there's still 6 eps. to go so I'll keep watching hoping I'll be positively surprised as the story unfolds
This series felt like they had a project or an idea at first but then they completely changed direction for some reason and they got lost along the way. I don't know... It's still watchable but to be honest the only good thing about this is the chemistry between the 2 leads, nothing else. 7/10
Apart from this series, I'm trying to think of other BLs where there is basically zero skinship, no hugs, no kisses or any romantic touching of any sort and I can't think of any (sorry but that last intertwined-hands moment felt like "ok let's at least give the most hardcore BL fans this tiny bit of skinship, it should make them shut up, so it doesn't count and it was really a pathetic move from the producers to be honest).
It's a Japanese BL and we all know how they show affection through words and little acts rather than physical contact and I personally wouldn't normally care about this too much but If the lack of intimacy between 2 guys is dictated by the fact it's (still) considered inappropriate or even disgusting for the audience then it becomes a huge deal. It's 2022 and it's high time to stop desexualizing gay characters to "protect" the bigot masses that could get negatively impressed and therefore stop watching the show.
All in all this wasn't a bad BL but not the best either. 7/10.
Ep. 16 made me see some light at the end of the tunnel, I'm so curious to see how things are gonna wrap up in the final episode. What a journey this has been!
Only 2 episodes left and I already miss them T_T
