I agree with you that Pai should be seeing a therapist and foccusing on his self esteem after the break up and that the proximity with Tim is toxic for him.

Also, I'm not the one to defend a character in the wrong like Tim, but we all know it's a happy ending kind of story, so, since the first episode I'm more on the side of trying to understand why Tim should be forgiven and why Pai would still want to be with him after knowing the truth, if you know what I mean.

You said Tim have made zero sacrifices, but what more was he in power to do? How is he making Pai's family to forgive him? So, he offered his comfort house (that you called stupid because you didn't pay attention to the meaning it has for Tim, since it's the only thing he was left with by his parents) for them to stay, took a loan on his car to have some money for them, he also started to work at their cafe to help and even tho he was a little dramatic about signing the divorce papers, he was never against that knowing that would harm Pai's future chances. I hate that he can't give Pai any space and I have some issues with the portrayal of that in some scenes, but we can't deny he is trying to be close to Pai because he worries for him, cares for his well being and that Tim's feelings for him are good now, he loves Pai even tho he hurt him a lot. Also, besides Pai, Tim also has nobody for him right now. Think about it.

So, from the first day trying to understand why this relationship would be an endgame: I think Pai really trusts Tim feelings for him and is amused by it, and that once he was told the truth from the sugar mommies, he was disappointed in him and super mad that he did what he did, but he is not questioning Tim feelings for him because he feels sincerity in it.

Pai has no one but North by his side right now, but Tim never left him. I think that means a lot for Pai, and just the same as Yu and North, Pai knows Tim will not betray him again.

I'm not here to change your mind or anything, but I think it's a little pointless to have so much hate for a character that will have a happy ending in 3 episodes. I think everything since the wedding is on character and I LOVE that in the last episode instead of saying "I love you Pai, It's okay if you never trust my words again", like in the novel, Tim listened to Pai's confession and said "I'm sorry. You can hate me to the rest of our lives because I'll be here for you". It's honest, reception of his feelings, warmth and love.

Hope when Pai is rich again, he can have therapy sessions weekly. Good night.

I can’t say I didn’t like the drama, because I really did. If anything, the frustration hits harder because it had the potential to be so much more than what we got. The casting was excellent, and a lot of the scenes were well executed visually. But I really felt like the story lacked depth and immersion, it never fully pulled the audience in the way it could have.

I know that even in the novel the plot doesn’t really lead Jade and Kamin to solve the case, so there wasn’t much to do. Still, I can’t help but think that with a stronger creative team and direction, this detail-rich plot could have been elevated into something.

I genuinely believe that when adapting a story for television, the screenwriter and director need to reshape it for audiovisual, even if that means making changes or creating new scenes. The only real change was moving up Jade and Kamin’s relationship and adding them into the card game. But it was obvious that JoongDunk’s chemistry was toned down, and honestly, that felt unnecessary.

In the end, I’d give the drama an 8. It’s just a shame, because it had the potential to be so much more.

If it helps, Jay consequence was toned down a lot. He is shoot by Puth to agonize watching the videos of his friends dying. He only survived because Kamin got him in time and stop the blood until help arrives. He developed many traumas, panic attacks and see the people dead next to him even 4 years after the things happened. He is forever reminded in life of what happened and how he turned a blind eye to his friends' action. People even question him if he isn't seeking for isolament at the clinics because he thinks he deserves a punishment too.

I wonder If things would change If they got the audience reception before they wrecked the shooting process. Because even tho I still like the show as a whole and can appreciate It as It was, there were some weak resolutions and unnecessary plots in the final episodes, like usual in dramas. I wonder if knowing how popular it got, they would prepare a more thoughtful ending. I really hope they put hardwork and inspiration in Peach and Me, and that it's not only a money grab special.

It's hard to rec anything like MAT yet, it was very unique, one of a kind. I'm having a good time with My Romance Scammer and Cat For Cash, but there is nothing similar plotwise.

Because it's your first approach with Thai BLs, I think it's better if you try to search for plots you like, or actors you already know, so it feels familiar.

I highly reccomend Thame Po: Heart Skips a Beat with William and Est (from Me and Thee) and the Thai version of Cherry Magic as a start, since you already watched the japanese one. Both are great rom coms!

If you enjoy cute stories: Your Sky, Boys in Love and My School President would work with you! I don't know if the characters are too childish, but I don't think so, even tho they are all young and still learning.

Another tip is to watch dramas loved by people like I Told Sunset About You, Last Twilight, Bad Buddy, Not Me, 1000 Stars, Gelboys, Khemjira, so you can understand how your taste is when it comes to what people already love, you know? Those shows are not rom coms plotwise so, be aware. It's just to understand your own taste.

I think the 2026 line up of dramas is full of rom-coms to be released (Mr. Fanboy, Magic Lover, Yourtuber, 17th Spring, Good Boy, Match Point, When Oranges Fall, Unlucky Bae, Kiss Me Remember and more), you'll have fun catching up when it's time.
