What a satisfying, well written, well acted drama. I really felt like I've made friends with these 3 women (they're my age), and have shared their experiences with them. Would love to see more of their continued stories, but at the same time I'd like to think things would be much easier for them from now on haha so I'd prefer to keep the ending as is with no season 2. I can see Manni's and Gu Jia's stories to have a second arc, but XiaoQin and Chen Yu deserve their happily ever after with no more shake-up!
Tong Yao's character is so complicated, in a good way. I'm not sure whether to hate her or like her. She's so ambitious, tries too hard for that perfect life, but we also see she is a very smart and empathetic person. I'm most invested in her story, and then Maggie Jiang's story. Mao Xiaotong just needs to divorce her husband...I hope her story will develop more than the rather frustrating stage it is now. Otherwise, this drama feels like a modern day palace politics drama where people use their words and behaviors in subtle battles of wits to survive in their career and society. It's kinda suffocating sometimes, but also really interesting to watch. I hope they keep this momentum for the rest of the episodes!
Gu Jia's huaband betrayed her and got a mistress! What a shame
Already?? Oh man...I was hoping with Gu Jia warning the girl with the oranges she'd back off...and the husband seemed nice too. Which episode will this happen so I can prepare myself??
This drama was a pleasant surprise. It's well plotted, directed, and edited. Looks more expensive than your typical low budget drama. Very funny too! I've seen only a few eps so far, hope it'll stay good!
I think the comments here hyped it up way too much for me. I think the female dominated city is quite interesting,…
I think a lot of us would love more sweet scenes as well, but I kinda like what we end up with. I remember not really caring to finish the last few eps of Secretary Kim even though it was all sweet scenes because they all seem pointless at that point. HS and QQ earned their sweet scenes (the ending could have been less rushed, however). It was fun watching HS chase QQ ( though a lot of people think it went on for too long!), That could be why we didn't see a lot of mutually sweet scenes, just one sided from him haha. It is a pity the hype may have ruined it for you - I have been there! I missed out on a bunch of hyped up dramas like Goblin, DOTS, you from another star etc as well.
An overrated drama. I don't even used that a lot. I see a lot of dramas over 8.5 and I wonder how in the world…
It's a bit of a silly drama, but I think folks like it for the pacing, the story (plot points get resolved quickly and we move to new ones, there's high stake for both main leads), and the characters (all have their own motivation and development). I love ZLS but I can see how some might not like her style :) I don't care for Esther Yu and lots of people love her. So maybe not "overrated" but it just resonated with a lot of people? The rating is subjective anyway, we're not drama critics here anyway :)
in qian qian's story, she wrote that han shuo was going to die. after changing lin qi's story and her still "dying,"…
Thank you so much!! This will tide me over for a few days! I still haven't watched ep 18 for fear of getting frustrated without ep 19 to relieve it lol this angst phase seems a bit long, 4 full episodes!!
Unexpected- about a manga writer who got stuck in his own manga. And upcoming drama My Girl with Li Jia Qi.
Feel free to search Twitter and the soompi thread on the drama, a few fan translation account already posted about it :) I don't have time to find the exact tweet. You can also ask a friend who speaks Chinese to confirm for you and yes , I know mydramalist doesn't list her name which is why I had to look for it elsewhere...

I don't think I said anything you said was wrong (and neither did anyone who replied to you). I think some of your points are valid, and I'm offering a different interpretation of what we see. Re your points in the immediate response above I have my own interpretation, but we don't need to get into that. I was hoping to discuss, not argue, and your tone towards me and others who reply to you has soured any possibility for any civil discussion.
EDIT: I’m not interesting in you guys trying to defend and prove hat this drama isn’t messy, unrealistic and…
Re: her accepting the world: she did think it was a dream at first and then tried to die to wake up. When her first attempt failed she was too chicken to try to die again (makes sense!) I don't think it's "fast" but more to her nature of "rolling with the punches" and now try to conclude the story so she can wake up. Obviously the plot is getting more and more out of her control, but as far as I know she's still trying.
Re: her not admiring defeat: she was trying to do a nice thing for the oldest princess. She can't admit defeat till Yuanyuan gets there to see her. If there's anything that's unrealistic here, that's QQ's devotion for her not-real sister, but maybe she's just kind. I also don't think she's dumb. She's super duper reckless in her schemes, doesn't check everything thoroughly, and is really astoundingly dense when it comes to romance. She even knows how to use Zhuge Liangg's strategy with Meng Guo! She knows Yingying was up to no good and tried to let him reveal his plot while in the process use him for her own purposes (i.e. get the plot back on track by letting Chuchu become Crown Princess).
Re: her taking so long to respond to Han Shuo feelings: according to the preview, it should come soon! Right now she's already slowly aware of her own feelings, and finally admits that he likes her. At first she was wary of him, was too confident in her knowledge of her own fictional characters. As far as she knows, he is: 1/"fated" with Chuchu, 2/murderous (his solution to everything is always, "kill"), 3/ fictional! 4/doesn't belong to the world she wants to return to. I honestly can't blame her for hesitating.
The drama is overrated so far IMO. Not worth 8.9!! It is cute but come on now. They shouldn't show the ML's hands...his…
It's quite hard to keep up the comedy like this show does. The story is super meta and well done, character development makes sense, everyone has a goal they're working towards, and most of them are relatable. I don't think it's rated highly just because of its cuteness. It has that it factor that makes it a crack drama. I don't think people realize how hard it is to construct a story with an actual plot that keeps progressing in a way that makes sense. In that way, this drama is higher quality than many others that supposedly have a "deep" plot but fail to meet what they promised.
