Omg omg first time watching this Lakorn and im about to burst i need to comment first of all this lakorn had me…
You are so right. I was also wanting to burst my top when watching this Lakorn. Especially Piak (director's wife) - she is so self-centred, crazy with jealousy and spoilt that I really wanted to bitch slap her to death. I think she is the only one not being slapped, which I think is really unfair. Poor Jee - she got slapped, beaten up, drugged, sexually assaulted, shot, drowned, betrayed, even raped (forced to have sex with Sathit), rejected, abandoned, slandered and get thrown off a horse! A weak woman would have gone mental in the end, but she becomes stronger and give it back to the wrongdoer in full measure. I really love her manager, Suki. He is funny and fiercely loyal and loving to her. But in the end, there is a happy ending afterall.
Is it just me or is the new batches of young actresses seem to act like childish/overact/bitchy + bratty in place of being a "strong, independent/opinionated" women? Or is it in the scripts that the ladies have to act like that? Sigh.... that's why I like watching the dramas made before 2018... LOL....
I did not like this drama in the end. To be honest, I liked the first few episodes where the ML was being so bossy and selfish, and the FL was fighting to work with him, just to secure a job. But when he started to waver and became indecisive, while the FL continued to lie to him being Veronica Park, my interest in the drama just went down the drain. In the end, I actually watched the drama for the real Veronica Park parts only. She is hilarious and over the top. The FL and ML are ok, but their storyline got quite muddled in the end. The actors worked their best but the writing could have been better.
I liked your review about this Thai drama since I was planning to watch another good lakorn. I just laughed at your comment "...I get that Mark Prin was supposed to play this brooding bad boy but with his chubby cheeks and midget height.... ".... LOL, I don't think he's a midget but he is surely cute as a button, and acting as the bad boy doesn't suit his cutie looks. I have to say Yaya is one of the most beautiful woman in the world. I wonder if she ever entered a beauty pageant. I have watched the first 3 episodes, and so far, I can see the chemistry between Yaya and Mark, so I will continue onwards till the end. I hope I will not be too disappointed.
Is it really so bad? I was planning to watch it and was looking for a website where they have english subtitles.…
Thanks for your reply. At the moment, I am watching Kleun Cheewit, the Thai version of the famous Korean drama "Secret". I read the reviews are good and I am looking forward to watch it. Plus the ML & FL are hot, and they seem to have good chemistry together.
I wanted to watch this new drama just because of Xu Kai. I just love him in The Story of Yanxi Palace, and I was surprised at how young he really is (he's only 23!) but in Yanxi Palace, I thought he was in his late 20s (maybe because of the Manchu costumes and bald head..LOL). Anyway, I am looking forward to viewing him in this new drama.
Thank you for sharing your personal background. I can relate with you, and your review convince me to re-start watching this drama again. I did start watching it a year ago, but I did not understand the concepts, and after 3 episodes, I just quit watching. I hope you are feeling better now and best wishes to you.
@Helen Ladymeow I think it's best u postponed watching this drama. I regret not doing so earlier... and now I'm…
You could be right. I should postpone watching it until all the episodes are aired and then I can binge watch it. But still, I am not a big fan of Suzy, and whenever I see some weekly episode trailer clips about her "abusing" my boy Lee Seung Gi, I get upset to the point I don't watch to watch the episodes....hahahaha.... I think I will wait until I am in the mood to watch action-thriller dramas, and then I will start with Vagabond again. I have just finished The Story of Yanxi Palace, and started with The Untamed... :))
I wanted to watch this drama just to look at Ji Chang Wook. I loved him since his awesome roles in Empress Ki and Healer. However, after seeing several video clips of this drama on my Instagram feeds, I don't feel the draw to watch the whole drama. For me, the FL is not matching to Wookie. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the chemistry. Or maybe it is the writing of the whole show, or the silly plots, or the usual cliches tropes that's just get boring. This show has so much potential, but I think it is spoilt by the poor writing.
I heard so much good reviews about this drama series, but after watching the first 1-4 episodes, I think I will postpone watching until all the episodes are finished. Even though I love Lee Seung Gi badass action character in this drama, I just don't really like Suzy Bae's character at all. Maybe it's me, but I feel like she is so bitchy all the time. And then she got drunk during a company dinner? That is so unprofessional. Why did the writers do that to her character? Sigh.... Hopefully her character will develop into a better person.
This drama is actually really hilarious. At first it was weird, but I actually like the ML and FL due to their constant bickering and funny situations they ended up in. I actually had to rewatch it 2x before I find myself liking the drama. I like the part where the FL trashed the offering trays of the ML's dead father because his extended family dissed and insulted her "low class" parents and status. Also the ML+FL relationship was kind of convoluted whereby the FL is going out with the handsome waiter, who worked at her ex-boyfriend's cafe, while pretending to date the ML (and the ML is okay with her dating the other guy!), who is the best friend of her ex-boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend is trying to get her back, while ex-BF is dating the ML's best friend.... LOL.....
