Ladymeow2020

This drama has started off well. I am really enjoying it. But I hope it doesn’t end up badly like The Dynamite Kiss.

I am wondering how a poor night soil collector character can act noble and ladylike in 5 days. And I am wondering if she can read and write because those old days, people like her are illiterate. But Chou can embroider, speaks eloquently and knows high-born social manners. I can’t believe she learned all that in 5 days. These seems like some plot holes. LOL. 😂🤣😵‍💫😂

I'm rewatching this wonderful drama after few years have passed. Now I'm rewatching with new eyes, I realized it's actually really interesting and completely complex with great storytelling and directing. Now it's a masterpiece for me 🥰🥰😅😅😆😅

I think more than 50 episodes is still not enough 🤣🤣 The story of MingLan was 58 episodes and I loved that drama. I wish they show us more episodes of the happy marriage story later ☺️☺️

Yes. You said it very well. Some viewers are critical about the main leads and just expect the usual romance and quick responses. They don't try to understand the characters, the time period, the hardships of the era, etc. They judge based on their modern thinking 🤔 and then complain and drop the drama. Even give low ratings. So far, I am loving ❤️ this drama. It has solid storytelling, good acting, directing, cinematography and OSTs.

This drama is really very good. I find that every episode gets better or never boring. Im already up to Episode 36 and it's still going strong. Most dramas by now would be stagnant or just average or struggling to get along. This is definitely one of my favorite dramas. I hope this keeps going until the end. 🤩🤩🤩

Yes. I got that vibes too. Probably both are hyper aware of each other but they both have to look cool and indifferent 🤣🤣

The way Du Zheng is purposely seducing the young naïve spoiled Xiu-Wan (ML 2nd sister) & he is willing to even kiss & get physically intimate with her shows that he is a despicable & not honorable man. His actions show that he doesn't respect her, only wants to ruin her so that they can be wedded forcefully if something bad happens to her (e.g. get pregnant, or caught red-handed by her family in shameful situations). I mean, her family's noble status expects Xiu-Wan - as a legitimate daughter of the Lin family - to be a virtuous & respectful lady. I mean secretly rolling around with a single man within some rocky garden enclosures, in the broad daylight, is hardly the behaviour of a respectful young lady. LOL...

This new drama Against the Current is so good 😊 It has now become my new favorite after POJ. The storyline and characters are so interesting and colorful. The directing is well done and the cinematography is gorgeous. I’ve watched up to episode 16, and I feel it gets better every episode. I was never bored & I look forward to every episode. I hope this momentum continues throughout the drama.

I believe lots of examples of sexual harassment from these historical dramas. Imagine the masters of the house are allowed to sleep with their maid servants, and the women usually have no choice 🙄 😒 😐

I had to rewatch this episode to understand the story about the blue flower 🌹 and why FL looked worried when she remembered that Ms. Du had the same flower placed into a gift box. I didn’t understand the context until the ML’s mother explained the avoided scandal. Really smart FL.

It was ok, but I felt the "romance" between the ML & FL who used to be like "brother & sister" feels a bit weird. But I put it on hold for now because I have many other new interesting dramas to watch

Wow. Reading this analysis makes me feel I have to pay more attention to the drama 🎭

I’m suffering everyday because for me, it’s one episode per day due to the express payment to watch the 2nd available episode

What? there is no happy ending? Dang, what is the point of me watching this drama then? LOL - hahaha

Which admin lady? LOL

I agree with you. The guy is hopeless and needs someone like her. LOL. 😂

I’m glad I watched Tian Xi Wei (FL) in POJ because I started watching Guardian of Dafeng and she’s a terrible character in that drama. She was so annoying & childish in Dafeng and really turned me off. LOL. 😂 In POJ, she’s a good character and acted really well. 😊😊That’s how good actress she is and the Director really directed POJ very well

I am rather confused now. If Yake presented a flower that looked like Narcissus, but the subtitles said it is Orchid. I thought the subtitles mistakes Narcissus for Orchid. Yake is correctly named Narcissus, while TY is Orchid because Orchid is a rare flower.

I hope this new drama with the same ML & FL will be better than their previous collaboration. I like Ding Yu Xi since Tiger & Rose, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that his new drama will do well here
