Yeah, action dramas are way too intense for me as well. I didn't even like Healer (which he also starred in), but The K2 is definitely good. And hey, I'm ARMY too like the other commenter, so no sweat.
I feel like this drama only mentioned BTS to get people talking about this drama more.
Yeah, I dropped this drama on the 2nd week, but I’m deciding if I should come back or not after seeing on Twitter how they mentioned BTS a lot of times. I visited MDL to see if it’s worth watching or not lol.
I’m so glad I didn’t start watching this drama. I know I’ll probably be murdered for saying it, but I really…
I used to think that way too, until I saw him acting in action dramas like The K2. He’s actually a really great actor, the problem is his recent projects really are not up to par like this and Suspicious Partners.
I feel like he wanted to move away from action gigs because they’re too much work. The problem is, they actually fit him the best and can do better justice to his acting skills. I used to discard him as just another hot dude in dramas, but was really impressed by his acting in The K2.
This comment is coming from someone who dropped this drama btw.
Do you think there will be a love triangle at first? I know Lin Kaituo will have a change of heart (from the intro), but will it start with a love triangle? Kinda anticipating a triangle (for once!) because Miao Miao and Kai Tuo's characters have really good chemistry.
I guess haru is the writer? and she'll end up with him? my support is for baekkyung though ;)
Baekyung liked her in the webtoon too though. He just doesn't want to really be with her because it'll go with the plans of his father (make connections with Dan-oh's rich family) and he doesn't really want to be under his father any longer. Also, it has to do with his mother passing away due to illness, which made him fear abandonment, hence him saying "I don't like girls who are ill."
4 episodes in and the characters are pretty much still uninteresting. I would have expected this to at least get on The K2's level of action because of the scale and budget, but to no avail.
I've nothing to say about the chemistry yet, because as much as I liked them both in Gu Family Playbook, I just don't feel anything here. I'd say it's more with the acting and the characters they play. Dal-gun is mad INTENSE, that Suzy's acting kind of fall short despite her improvement. Whether it's Seung-gi or Suzy who needs to adjust, idk.
For an NIS agent, Suzy's character here is pretty dumb. Kinda disappointed by how many times she's been outsmarted and outperformed by a stuntman when NIS people should be the smartest and most skilled when it comes to things like this. She won't even be vigilant or suspicious of things she should be about.
They discovered a terrorist attack, one would think an NIS agent, or for any person for that matter, would be careful and fearful for their lives. People have been trying to kill them for days now, and yet when the airport thing happened to Dal-gun, she decided to brush it off AGAIN!
I wanted to watch it, but I can never get past 10 episodes because it's just soooo sad. Please spoil me though: (1) Did the public find out about the two's history (dating + their current relationship)? and (2) Were the crimes Joon Young's dad & family commit went public as well?
One of the best things about this show is the female lead. She doesn't play the typical Asian drama-trope queen who's mostly "ugly", dumb, desperate, too kind, and indecisive. Xia Ruining has her own principles, she knows when to stand up for herself, and she has control over her feelings.
Sure, she gets a little too trusting with that freaking monster of a female second lead, but she knows to be wary of her too.
I can't comment yet about the rest of the series since there are no subs, but I'm definitely gonna watch this to the end because there's only a few female leads like her in dramaland. I hope she stays consistent.
Also, does anybody know when the subtitles usually come out on the official Youtube channel?
