Overall, I quite like it despite Alan Yu is rather stiff. The story and Yukee Chen's acting are pretty good.
I agree on this. Overall drama story is pretty good watch. But Alan Yu is too stiff. He's totally not into his character. His chemistry with the FL is also not there. She's so bubbly and "adores" ML but he's just expressionless. As a viewer, we can't even tell if he likes her or not.
I do like Princess Zhangle and Zhao Yan....they are so likeable.
Mu Bei Yan is really nice and cute too. I think he makes FL a much better couple.
I hate the Ran Yan. She betrays XS so many times and she just takes advantage of him. She lets Su Fu use her over and over again. I'm sorry to say but she's just a bitch that is not worth either guys.
I'm almost in the midst of dropping this show. Ran Yan seems smart but she's just plain arrogant and proud. She has no respect for XS.
She always gets into trouble and expects XS to bail her out. She uses him....I guess it's like a pot calling a kettle black...she and su fu are exactly the same kind of people! The two deserve each other. Just wish XS didn't fall for her...such a regret.
The ending should focused On Donghua family instead of Jiheng. The story wasn’t about her. She fell in love…
I think they gave airtime to Ji Heng because she owns the copyrights to the dramascript.
I hope there's another side drama from this series...I think it's Third Prince and chengyu maybe they can do one on Bi Yi Niao princess with Xiao Jingwei....it'll be quite nice.
Hahaha...you need time to be pregnant and give birth. FJ got pregnant and left to the mortal world to give birth. But I did wish they gave more airtime to her in the mortal world. The slept lots of times before the wedding day so when she conceive is a bit vague. When DH wanted to see her for the last time and wished her well before he went to fight Miao, FJ misunderstood him and left him feeling disappointed and sad cause he knows she was still upset with him and hadn't forgive him for leaving her on the wedding day. I was hoping for more scenes on DH reuniting with FJ and Gun Gun....
I just ep 6. Alan Yu is stone-face so far. He only has one expression. Sigh. At least Yu Kee is better at expressing her character. As the adopted son, he doesn't have a bad life since his aunt dotes him like a mother hen. Although the King later tries to kill him, he didn't treat him badly when they were living together. He's just expressionless.
They are supposed to be a couple but totally cannot feel any chemistry between them. Between them, feels more like associates than even friends. In ep 6, he brings her a blanket to the prison but instead of show care/concern, he just looks indifferent.
I must say Mu Bei Yan is much better. Bei Yan goes looking for his runaway bride and he really is concerned when he found out she ran away.
FL, Yu Kee, is ok when she is portraying FMW but when she's Qing Li, she just lost it. She cannot do two face characters. You can tell she gets thrown off guard and can't act out her two characters. It's like she suddenly goes off-script. Maybe it's part of the scriptwriter's fault? When she got betrothed to Bei Yan, she went crazy flirting with every good looking guy in town to get back at the families. But when she actually married her beloved general of Ji country, she becomes demure and strong??? really?
All the actors need a lot more training. Sometimes I think scriptwriters are so blatantly duh when writing scripts. Mu Bai betrays the group over and over again and still gets forgiven. That's just too much and not realistic at all.
Mu Cheng is like an idiot and naive throughout the whole show. It's like he doesn't grow up while all the rest does.
Let's hope not. If things don't start to happen soon I give up. They can have season 2 and 3 without me.
I can't stand how slow the story is moving. I also think Leo Wu's character is such a drag...he so horribly drunk because of Hongyi and so useless. I also can't stand how to place the Demon hunter's character, popping in and out.
What I cannot understand is the Demon Ling Jun..she's like a bloody double agent playing both sides.

I just watched up to ep 28. I'm just guessing that MYF does love Hongyi and wants her for himself. But it looks to me that Hongyi does love Hongshou back but is worried to show it because they are supposed to be brother/sister relationship. That's why she even followed him to the army barracks. She doesn't show or admit her love because big brother is very concern about protecting the family from scandals and anything that might destroy the family.
The young king and tiger queen mother are evil. They both want power and are forcing the Bai brothers out of the army as then they will have command over the army. That's why the Queen Mother wants to install her nephew as the general in command and refuse to let either Bai brothers take command.
The problem with the series is the plot is developing too slow. The underlying plot is the evil demons are trying to awaken the 5 gods - god of fire, wood, water, earth and metal and create chaos in the world. The way to push for chaos is to create a war between the two nations, Yo and Lang. From what I have watched so far - Hongshou is water, Ming Yefeng is wood, Big Brother HongXiao is fire...Not sure Hongyi is metal (most likely) or earth. Anyways, this is what I just guessing.

I like Xiao Yu but he's sometimes too much when it comes to pushing Ran Yan to work for him.
