It is rare to see such satisfying plot

There are heartbreaks, yes, but never in vain and not without a sound cause.

At first, i was drawn on how good the fighting scenes, gorgeous costumes and CGIs scenes. All these visual pleasantry paired with such ambient music made it even more otherworldly.

And then comes the characters, I think TLC is the best fictional anti hero ever created in chinese dramaverse. He is a master of scheming, seemingly heartless, and a tsundere to a fault. All the misunderstanding stemmed from his unwillingness to share his plan to his companions, which i would find unreasonable if not for the complexity of the situation he faced. I usually hated misunderstanding plot, but i did realized from the get go that TLC really could only conceal such situations, i would do that too if i was in his shoes.

At first, i felt this series focused on too much characters, but then these characters have profound existences and i can't deny their importance to the plot.

The death of characters doesn't feel unnecessary, sad, but it moved the plot onwards. And at the end of the series, i feel attached to all the characters involved that i felt the ending is rather satisfying than bittersweet.

The only sad part of the whole plot is where they all forgot they ever worked with an important companion. It is the most sensible ending that could happen in such times, hence my satisfaction for the ending, but i can't help but feel sad to the forgotten one.

I like this better than its novel

Don’t get me wrong i like the novel, that’s the whole reason i am waiting desperately for this series, but i couldn’t help to feel that some scene feels unrealistic.

I don’t know about anyone else but i personally like this better than its novel, although a bit rushed and FL’s combat scene cut down to a minimum, ML’s dashing battle scene saves the whole Military General theme.

SML’s characteristics are much more pronounce that i hate him even more in this series.

I also like how they merged 2 certain characters in the novel into one. In the novel, one of them have little contributions to the story and the other have questionable life decisions that i must say it couldn’t relate to real life.

Ditching the rebirth genre is a great decision for this entire series, it makes every little twist and revelations that i find questionable in the novel much more believable in this series. But, although it serves the whole plot that sometimes questionable in the novel, FL frail figures could only justified by rebirth to another body, so ditching it would makes FL’s skinniness unjustified, not that i tried to body shame her, but i found it almost illogical.

The downside of ditching the rebirth story is also came by ditching few characters FL should have met, they are lovely characters, but i understand it would be illogical to include them without any red line to the plot.

Last but not least, their soundtracks are great and fit my preferences so well that i fell in love with them at first hear.

Unexpectedly good

At first i was skeptical of how this shows turns out. How i dislike FL at first for even though i like strong FL, i hate unreasonable women the most, and i find ZKY as a rival for ML is a menace.

But as the story progresses, FL gotten even smarter, ZKY looks aggresive, yet i finally notice his subtle admiration to ML’s ability (although ZKY is also smart). I like ZKY character development so much that he might be the character i like the most throughout this series. I have no other reason to held my dislike on this series anymore.

Character development for all the leads and supports in this series is so great, although the mystery solving is laced with fantasy aspects, it all fit to answers all the questions. Of course nothing could be called perfect, but i have to say the delivery for this series is almost there.
