You and me both. Each of the characters have been so clearly fleshed out. And all the relationships are so well…
I also reply on another post but wanted to also copy here - just my thoughts. I actually don’t think it’s a cheap move for emotional / just a love interest.
I do think there are more reasons. The most important one being her dad. Jisoo is her dad’s biggest weakness and like mentioned in ep14, her dad, as the lead man in the police force received a lot of pressure on the investigation on this case, he is barely getting it through and he’s still struggling. Imagine if Jisoo is still here, without her dad’s full support, they can find the entire truth behind and nothing can still be processed officially.
Also, I don’t think Ahn’s ability was advanced solely because of Seongmo. Ahn’s ability improves when it’s something he truly cares about and Jisoo is someone he cares for so much that he doesn’t even care about the world knowing his ability now. Jisoo is legit the only person who was there for him during his entire childhood. Not his parents nor Seongmo.
On top of that, Jisoo is the only character who connects every single person and parts in this case. From YSS, the lead police man, the skillful detective Nam, her spy police, Dr. Hong, Seongmo, Ahn and Jaein. Even Seongmo’s dad. Her death is the last draw for everyone to put 200% of their hearts and souls to help solve this case.
It doesn’t only prove Seongmo cares for her. Her last words “come back” is essentially saving Seongmo from becoming the monster. (Now of course, if the finale reveals Seongmo has always been the monster long ago then this part of her death is meaningless) She died wanting to save Seongmo, not just to prove Seongmo cares for her. (And we know long ago Seongmo cares a lot for her)
Her death also creates an “active” culprit where leads and actions are current. Unsolved past cases were unsolved until now because evidences disappear after time. Even being able to capture Seongmo’s dad was because of the current activity. He’s on the move. Traits and leads are always current.
Just my thoughts on what Jisoo’s death means to the plot.
I don't think he's the culprit either. Mostly because I have a hard time believing that a boy, who is still recovering…
Agree. He’s a boy without feelings not with super power lol How does he handles 3 grown women plus a dead woman? If the dad killed the 3 women, then he must have started the fire right? Otherwise how would his plan on replacing the mom’s identity works with the face all clear lol But then again, maybe there’s a 3rd person who killed the women before the dad placed the 4th body? I hope the writer gives us a logical and surprising reason and truth tho lol
I know somebody said that before, but after ep13 'He is Psychometric' losses points. I don't really care about…
I respect everyone’s opinion but I do think there are more reasons. The most important one being her dad. if he liked her he'd be jealous of ahn since ahn and jaein are a couple but he isn't so he doesn't like her romantically!
Most likely Jaein is the "trigger" Seongmo had to start having emotions and feelings. Much like the existence of his mom to his dad. It's not even about romance or what, she is the most important person in his life, she made him started to become a human with feelings. (my guess)
Damn..... Seong Mo and his mother were locked up for 9 whole years??? He spent the first 9 years of his life like…
Actually, mom was locked up way longer. Seongmo was locked up for 9 years since he was born but the mom was locked up since she was still a teenager. That was the most creepy part. I always thought the mom just married to a psycho but no, she was captured LOOOOOONG before she turned adult. When Seongmo was still in the prison he actually didn't have feelings, so he didn't experience fear or pain at that time. However, mom was a totally different story :( I feel so bad for the mom!
I actually think it’s a pretty decent drama so far at ep10. The characters all have depth and dimension. They are all likable and the story is being told in a way that’s beautiful. Lots of hints and details and metaphors throughout. Use of color, image, etc.
yeah i feel that the revelation and their reaction is kinda "awkward"
On the contrast I found Jaein’s expression very lacking and untruth. Lee Ahn’s back story is that he has no faith in human because of how much dirty secrets he saw from the nicest people and he felt ironic that Jaein said she didn’t think her dad is a killer just because. He has seen so much terrible people who you can’t tell from their surface and to him, Jaein saying she trusts her dad without any evidence is ironic to him. However, Jaein’s reaction was unclear. What her expression trying to convey? She looked angry only to me at times. While Lee Ahn showed how ironic this whole situation. The person who taught him to not trust anyone is her dad and she’s here telling him she trusts him because she thinks he is a good man. Also the fact that legit the person he hated his whole life is right in front of him and he’s been helping her to clear his name (who killed his own beloved parents)? I found Lee Ahn’s gesture and reaction rings true given his whole train of thought?
lol Dasom/Jisoo ("older girl cop") is actually only one year older than Jinyoung lol
i know you are not bashing but I am answering what you said about "young" just clarifying she isn't a rookie in the industry. As for surgeries, I simply don't think she has done too much compared to some other idols. Not regarding I like or dislike surgeries or not. Normally I like it when the face looks natural but just saying Dasom isn't "that much surgeries" because it's not that much - not saying she didn't or do I think it's better or not. haha.

haha SISTAR debuted in 2010 and already disbanded in 2017. Used to be a trainee in JYP along with the main lead (Lee Ahn) sk they know each other since very young. She is actually a veteran idol already LOL 9 years under her belt and won SBS best new actress in 2017. I don't feel like she has done a lot of surgeries? Like the normal amount for most idols.
I see from the comments some people think this show is going nowhere and has a very repetitive development with lots of recaps and the characters aren't using his power, etc. I actually think the very opposite? This show has been having a very fast development, lots of background information giving out and honestly I really appreciate they took the time to develop why are the characters acting how they act.
If you skip this drama just because one or two people say so, I do hope you can keep on watching and see it for yourself. I have been watching Kdramas and lots of other dramas in the world more than a decade with at least 3-4 shows per season, of coz I wouldn't say this is the BEST drama out there, but it's been a great entertainment and there are lots of dramas that are actually SLOW and aren't going anywhere LOL
Honestly I can't even stand Voice when everyone is saying so many good things about it so is Tunnel (the drama) and The Guest, like these dramas are good too but there are still things I can't stand. This drama has been one of the better ones so far.
Actually I really expected it to be cringy and awkward but the story itself was A LOT better than what I thought it would be LOL Also for Jinyoung, I know he can act pretty well but I have never seen him in a 16 ep drama, especially he had acted on a lot more "darker" characters, not sure if he will be natural when acting this kind of silly characters, but I am actually really surprised.
He did so much better than I thought he would be LOL He seems pretty natural and a lot of the times I found him catching the emotion very accurately - the way he acted gave a very silly character more depth and I find his facial expression refreshing. Of course he is still a very new actor, and not much to develop so far so he has been doing a great job at this particular character so far!
I am very strict viewer when it comes to idol acting, especially I like him as an idol, that makes me even more strict in judging cos I know him so well and I want to be as objective as possible. But for ep 1-2, I don't think he has given me any of an "idol-acting" feel tho?
I just hope the writer don't screw up lol Please keep it good!
