How can they even compare the two??? its two totally different dramas??
This! They have completely different genres! Story of Pearl girl is definitely my favorite but I personally watch both of them, I watch Love game in eastern fantasy while waiting for Story Of Pearl Girl's next episodes.
I really like both. Story of Pearl Girl is more serious and has a heavier plot, it's for sure gonna be a classic. The Love Game in Eastern Fantasy is definitely more light hearted and meant for entertainment. I personally enjoy both of them but Story of Pearl Girl is definitely my favourite between the two.
DW and YZJ are so cute together, I really like them together. I think I read somewhere that the novel is a bit different so I'm thinking of reading it after this drama ends.
I just want the fl to end up with the 2nd ml or be alone idk.
I'm on ep 13th and omg. I hate it when someone tries to make their partner or the one they're interested in, intensionally jealousy or makes them misunderstand situations. It instantly gives me the ick. Despite the ml's accusationn, the fl did no such thing. She just went to learn the guqin, genuinely trying to learn that specific melody to go back home. The ml on the other hand, made her INTENSIONALLY misunderstand to make her jealous. Even though he KNOWS there's practically no one she can sincerely trust, not even himself, bc of her situation, which she just found out THANKS TO THE 2ND ML, who despite using her as well, at the very least he told her. The ml told her a couple of episodes back how they should trust each other and not hide anything but he did no such thing. I'm shipping her with the 2nd ml not bc he's a saint or something, let's not forget how he used her as well. He's simply the lesser evil.
Oh yes the fl hurt him bc he poisoned her in the beginning of the show, so now he has somehow magically redeemed himself. Instead of the fl completely despising him and how he decided it was okay to hurt her to save himself, she feels bad about hurting him.... Insanity... Logic has flown out the window apparently as they say that he felt bad so he decided to "protect" her even after learning her condition.... literally a few episodes back they were saying how he decided to keep her close in order to investigate her properly... It's simply crazy...
I get the same feeling. In my opinion, the characters are written in a (in a lack for better words) childish way.…
Exactly! You described it perfectly! Had this been a teenage drama, I wouldn't mind it as much (though this genre isn't my cup of tea, I might watch one occasionally). But considering that they're supposed to be 33 years old it's very weird and off putting. I was expecting something more mature (and I believe it was rightfully so bc of the premises of the story).
The 5th episode was frustrating and boring for me. I just realized that this is a teenage drama masking as a mature one. Ofc there can be a mature drama about dreams but this is not really it. The first two episodes are the best for me.
My mother once again re-watched Ancient Love Poetry and I joined her to re-watch his last scene in it.... I seriously cannot put into words how great his portrayal was! His performance always steals the show no matter what drama I've seen him in! His performance in ALP (along with Liu Xue Yi's) is so memorable that it'll probably stick with me forever!
He seriously deserves more recognition and main leading roles! He is ridiculously talented!
Leon Lai as Gu Jun and Liu Xue Yi as Tian Qi, are so memorable to me. I don't think I'll ever forget their portrayals…
P.s. my mother was watched this drama approximately 7 times (maybe more tbh I've lost count) and every time she comes across Gu Jin's fatherly sacrifice she always tears up. His performance is top notch!
