The "problem" with this drama is the genre "comedy"
There are some comedy elements but its more like a slice of life/healing drama than a rom com.
First things first, we re talking about childhood friends (not even childhood, toddler friends) so there wont be any kind of sudden butterflies and fireworks that explode into anyone's heart.
Then there's a certain focus on how people are dealing with health problems, how families can literally ruin lives (both parents and children's lives), how parental guidance and expectations can poison one's heart (again both sides)
Personally its not my cup of tea, but its very well executed, the storytelling goes smoothly, revealing hidden clues, pointing out some serious stuff about life and relationships without beautification.
If someone wants passionate starcrossed lovers who get head over heels and then dancing on clouds against all odds, then better look somewhere else-this is not the drama for you.
If someone wants all the above, then its a decent watch and the mains are doing great job -as it was expected. Happy watching to everyone!

I agree on that "speed" ranting of yours-in terms of dramatization and plotwise-but i dont see how they could…
Every human being has emotions-and if he/she hasnt is not a matter of ethnicity or anything.
But indeed, if i want a good quality depiction of emotions, i can watch a good quality jap/chinese/korean/or western drama/movie
Cheap shows show cheap emotions or no emotions. There are korean ones who fail on that aspect too.
Its not a matter of a country. Its a matter of quality in telling a story.
(btw, jap people are very much introverts -if we re talking about certain cultural and behavioral traits-but that doesnt mean they dont feel the same emotions as every other human beings).

god forbid a woman needs 2 boyfriends
Utopia: a world where people are honest with each other and can form relationships, families or whatever they want, with as many people as they want, no cheating, no lies, consent given and love comes to its true form (for those who feel that monogamy is not for them) :)))

Title Love Next Door Spoiler
The writers created a series of issues that have yet to be resolved, and blindsided us with this reveal right…
From a medical aspect, the survival rate is only a number-the prognosis depends on each individual-so leaving that aside, i agree with you. The cancer trope was totally uneccessary. She could have any other health problem or not even a health one, so to come back.
My guess is that they go for the: "she wants to achieve her dream no matter if she s got a little time left-he has to make that relationship happen cause time is precious and bla bla
bla.
To be honest, i wasnt enthusiastic since the beginning. I ve started it for the main leads, i love both, but i got bored too soon. And now that i see the "terminal illness" scenario coming...indeed a lazy and ridiculous attempt to gain viewers, cause they didnt have anything more to give.

8 episodes of literally nothing happening between the main couple, watching the 2 families having their issues and now "this" in ep9?
REALLY?
I will accept it only if it 's not that serious and become the reason for the ML to finally confess.
Everything else is cheating on the romcom genre
They should call it a melo so we know what are we dealing with (by "this" i mean her situation-dont wanna spoil for those who havent watched it yet)

least obvious misogyny rage bait in this comment section
Most of us here, like romcoms and romance dramas/movies in general, because they tell a love story no matter the age gap, no matter who is older (ml/fl). As long as we are talking about adults who can give their consent to be sexually related to someone.
You are not accepted here. We dont want haters and sexists among us.

Title No Gain, No Love Spoiler
Am I the only one who heard the mom say she has to go home to take care of her son during her dementia episode?…
Nope. I ve heard it too. And also the moment when he hugged her during the ceremony and she recognized him. It was so sweet. I know she neglected her own daughter at some point, but im always very touched by people who either adopt or take foster kids into their family for a while. Its a very touching and deep move to be there for children that are not yours. Her husband was also a very nice man

I do like the drama ,the chemistry between leads ,the sinlings bond etc etc but Kim Young Dae 's acting is really…
He is just as bad as in my demon. Sadly he was very good only in sh*ting stars. I hope he gets better in next episodes. His role is not that challenging and deep. A good director could guide him better i guess

Now this is the drama I picked up with no expectations and now I wish every day was Monday so that I could watch…
I started this one out of boredom with love next door and Cinderella 2am, while waiting them to air more episodes but i got stuck with this one unexpectedly lol

Up to now, no matter how the story goes, i pay my respects to the scriptwriter, for talking openly about s*x, about orgasm, about hypocrisy and cheating in married people, about a middle age mother who reads (and enjoys shamelessly AND there's nothing wrong with it) dirty web novels and i hope there's more coming!

For the record, I didn't enjoy as much popular dramas like Business Proposal or Marry My Husband, which shows…
I was so excited for love next door mostly because of the cast, but i got bored too soon.

I honestly dont get where the storytelling is heading to.
Push and pull in a silly way, last dinners, last day of fun, last whatever.
And now a new guy appearing to contribute to the story like wtf?

Extactly, those people seem to live on planet Delulu. Besides that: Hey it's a romcom.
The incel's planet is a flat planet: they can easily fall off if touched by reality!

I found it quite bizarre that incel are watching romcom kdramas and are surprised those productions aren’t cut…
They shouldnt complain
There are so many kromcoms for them to enjoy! Women being socially banned still being single in 35, or desperate to get married, or their friends/boss/parents scolding them for being single and childless. Do they want more? aaaah the incel's heart, always hungry for more!
