I dont really like it up to now (i ll continue watching though to see how it goes) but i REALLY enjoy the first time in a k-romcom of a FL talking about orgasm with her boyfriends, buying condoms with no shame and say it clearly to her friends that she demands her satisfaction The only thing i wont like is if they make it look like she wants pleasure because of her "bad" trait of wanting to gain things in every aspect of her life I hope it wont go down that road considering the pure misogynistic korean culture in general
I guess you haven’t watched time travelling stuffs much. It's the fact that if he doesn’t go save her in the…
Its a time loop, not a pure time travel. Like them being trapped in a time loop where they know the outcome but not the exact events that cause it. You can check the discussion thread "time travel" where a girl explains the whole thing, i had the same question with you
Just finished it. IU's acting was very weak. If not for her perfect for the role face and her general vulnerable…
The ending was perfect for the main couple. Separation, tragic death, in another man's arms, regrets, despair, loss and a promise to find her in her world. 100% pure romance. The love remained eternal-and this ending is the only way to have eternal passionate love.
They couldnt be together and happy-that's for sure. Dont forget that we re talking about people of 1000+ years ago (around 900CE in the beginning of Goryeo empire) People back then were so much different than today. Cruel, mostly trying to survive, be it farmers, workers or princes and high ranked officials. Love and pinky dovey feelings were not even existing. Their average lifespan was about 50yo-there was no time for these luxuries. They had to survive, to get married early, to have kids, to go to wars, make a living etc. Marriage was not a matter of love-no matter the social status (even today its delusional to believe that it needs crazy love to survive). So, for the main couple, to be a king, with a harem of concubines, at least 2 main wives and a huge number of kids, is almost impossible to keep a healthy relationship-and considering that this relationship would be with a woman of our times. The most important line of the drama was spoken by her in the end: "if you were in my time, i could love you as much as i want"
I really regret that i hadnt watched it when it aired, cause i love the hype and live comments when a drama with a huge impact is aired-like this one. The only thing that bothered me, is that teaser with him approaching in the museum. They knew that fans were desperate for a scene like that. They could have made a special 20min episode, or at least a 5' video of that scene. It was very cruel to release a photo and then forget about it.

Just finished it. IU's acting was very weak. If not for her perfect for the role face and her general vulnerable aura-plus her cheerful moments with the guys, she could have ruined the whole thing. Her chemistry with the ML was not there, her eyes were not there, here body was absent so was her passion for him. LJG's perfect expressions, his emotional development towards her, his whole attitude, fell to the ground every time he interacted with her. He is such a good actor, be it in line delivery or improvisation, and its such a pity when his FL cant reach the same acting level. Overall the guys saved the day. All of them. Also the older ladies gave the perfect tone, as it was needed in a historical melo As for the ending, i can totally relate with the fans and their desperation (after all, i ve also experienced it in other dramas-believe me i can feel you), but it was perfect. I ll continue my comment under spoiler, next to this one
You are sooooo right about the very interesting, mysterious, creepy but charming relationship between Gui and the girl! It was indeed the deepest and most interesting part of the drama. So much potential got wasted-though i was pretty enthousiastic for the first 10ep...later on it went dowhill-so my mood. Thanks for the review, though its been "84 years" lol
I just cant believe how good is the writing of characters-each and every one of them. Having watched the chinese version a couple of years ago, i can say that the k version is better by far. It only lacks a bit as a whole production, but the acting and the narration is better. I wish the editing was better, they obviously cut scenes without linking the story perfectly, but i can totally see the hype
This drama is the proof that solid acting by the mains (and by the most of the cast) can save the day when it comes to plotholes, at times boring storytelling and a few other flaws. The drama is worth watching overall. Especially comparing with other later ones -of same genre. Watch it for the acting for the music (though sometimes is a bit too much dramatized) for the lightning and costumes for the romance that's not so ordinary.
aaaaah with this director! The only thing that saved hims in previous works, was the top level actors who gave their best! If only he could guide ZLH a bit more! He has proved that with proper direction he can give a decent acting

aaah South Korea never fails to impress us when it comes to social issues. Glamour on the outside, filthy darkness on the inside. Well done! Such a shame...rapists get 1.5 year in jail and people with mental issues take 4. I hope Yoo Ah In can manage to get through the whole thing, and find the help he needs and deserves.
Can j dramas give us at least 1 story with a man having such issues as "being 30+ and question his life goals, loneliness. potential marriage, not getting married, have or not have any kids etc"? Enough with women who suppose to be loners for 10+ years and fall for the first weirdo who smiles at them. Is this the average impression that jap society has on women? its 2024 for cryin out loud. People should have more important things to think about than marriage and kids.
Well… Goblin ended really bitter for sure. Humans only owe three lives, and these three lives he can spend with…
Its been 3 years since you commented, but just for the sake of reminding you, the "3 lives thing" was an assumption of his sister, reminiscing her lives, during a small talk with the FL. We dont know for sure if there are indeed 3 lives in their world (i mean the drama's world)
