Its not romance focused. More like family/slow revenge/multiple side stories. The romance may be more intense later on, but up to ep 23 its kind of flirting and not many scenes. The drama is more on telling the FL 's revenge story which is actually revenge for herself and the girl who saved her
Of course you can start while its ongoing. There are not much intense events going on, so you wont lose anything . Happy watching!

I ll only answer to "with the other actors". I mean that chemistry and good communication on screen, is not only shown between a couple but also between all the actors that play in a scene. And i dont see him communicating with the others, same way i dont see him having any kind of chemistry with the FL. Stiff is not only sitting/standing like a model, but behaving like the character you are supposed to be. I see him standing and moving like a piece of wood and you dont have to agree with me-im fine with dissagreements.

ehm im not here to discuss with or about Avenue's opinion. Im expressing myself and i dont see good acting by him. not only in his face but his body language and connection with the rest of the cast is absent. Thats all. Its ok if someone else likes him. As for dubbing, i dont know if he is dubbed by another actor or himself later in studio-which happens often not only in cases where actors are weak in mandarin or line delivery but also due to the noise during shooting.
For sure dubbing is a bad habit in shows cause it "steals" about a half of everyone's performance but in chinese productions esp idol dramas, is very common

Because that's what i wish for everyone who loves his/her job and wants to improve. Many actors/actresses start weak in terms of acting and they get better in time. Should i curse him or anything?

Age has nothing to do with the acting skills or the pairing (im talkin in general-not for the current drama). It depends on the character built, how they are written, their on screen chemistry the direction-so many things
Acting is objective, but chemistry is totally subjective-its a matter of taste. A pair may click for me and not for others or vice versa

Up to ep 21 and im dropping it.
I really cant stand the ML (the actor-not the character). I know he's aloof, stoic bla bla, but he is just empty. His eyes are empty, his body is stiff all the time, he looks uncomfortable in most scenes. FL is good but its impossible for her to fill the gap-actingwise. I hope he gets better in his future works. Wallace Chen is great with Angela Baby in "General and I". Since you like him, go and watch it if you havent. Angela Baby is not even an actress but she is ok-he fills the gap and they are great together. Nice drama fast paced, intense, chemistry, beautiful kisses and fighting scenes-not anything special as a story but overall very nice and entertaining.

On the contrary, i get their age difference (IRL) and i really enjoy it that way. I like if it was implied that she is a bit older, since she already got married and spend some years on that wedding. I see their age difference in her eyes and his attitude, though its beautifully shown, but of course the 12 years are not shown in any way! The actress already looks very fresh and much younger than her age

Its my first historical after many months and i obviously forgot how draggy chinese can be in such dramas hahahhahaa. At least its a good production, i like tha costumes the props makeup and the general aesthetics so i ll enjoy it when things move on a bit faster!

Still on ep9 and i really dont know what genre am i watching. Its clearly not a revenge story (or a very slow moving revenge story).
It looks to me like a harem-palace story, or a historical soap or something. Is it getting better later or remains in the same rythm?

Road home was very beautiful in landscape shooting, the mongolian desert, the costumes and the music. But i was bored, i didnt find any storyline. Thank god Jing Bo ran gave us Regeneration in which he really shines! I hope he gets same quality works from now on cause i ve been watching him for years and i like him so much as an actor
(Tan was even cringier in Sword and Brocade...with a very experienced ML and a great actor in intimate scenes, but she was also meh).

In chinese historical dramas, actors often get dubbed by others (or by themselves later in the studio) not only because they may be weak in line delivery, but mostly because there is a restriction speaking mandarin, and not all actors speak mandarin as they may not have learned it or the may have an accent that makes it difficult. Other times actors dub themselves later in the studio depending on the noise during shooting (or extreme use of chi effects or sound effects that make their voice not being recorded the right way during shooting. Its not a matter of good/bad voice, or anything else. In China there are many very popular dubbers and often we get confused in historical dramas (Or xianxia) when we hear the same dubbing actor/actress dubbing so many heroes/heroines)

Is it good? Im following his works. He is not the best actor out there, but all his roles are made for him and he is always decent. I like him overall very much
