They really managed to ruin everything in the last episode. I wont even mention th 2 min conversation between the couple about his fear of having kids due to his disease which he inherited by his father. Such a difficult disease but ok she smiled and said "thats life" so all his (very rational fears) were gone and they decided to have a bunch of kids even with the posibility for them to suffer a tragic painful childhood in fear, surgeries and treatments. Because we all know, that the only way to be happy as a couple or an individual, is to GIVE BIRTH-no matter the chances of having a kid being tortured by such a situation-but ok THATS LIFE. I was like wtf are they talkin about... Then at the end, she finally has twins...and she got 26kg in 3 months. Well imagine a person losing the same weight in a year and then gain it again and then eventually lose it again (cause hubby is a fitness freak and counts your bites. Heart attack? Depression? All the above? Maybe. I dont know what they wanted to prove with that kind of ending, maybe a very wrong body positivity kind of attitude? If they wanted that, they failed in a very epic way. Oh and the usual "we ve met when we were kids" so they wouldnt even leave even one cliche out of the story!
Stay away from Madame Antoine! (or watch it if you wanna see an even worse psychiatrist. I agree with you, though…
As a genuine skipper-fastforwarder-dropper, i'd say that you dont miss anything dropping M.Antoine. Its interesting if you throw logic out of the window, but as most dramas, it gets boring in a loop after ep 7-8
So no one is gonna talk about how unprofessional Ko Yi Seok is? Lmao okay.. if this was irl, his license as a…
Stay away from Madame Antoine! (or watch it if you wanna see an even worse psychiatrist. I agree with you, though ok its a drama, but in most countries around the world these prof would have their licenses taken and probably be in jail for many reasons
Same here. Like, I fell in love with instantly. I love his hair lolI wish to see him more
The cop is one of the most handsome and hot male actors in Kdramas ever. Face, body, height, sweetness, smile, voice, everything! Too bad he hasnt got any ML roles worth watching
Finally relatable people! Im starting to believe that older kdramas are better than modern ones in many aspects! And finally a FL who is a virgin but she 's got a VERY good reason for it and she admits that she has needs, she's watching p@ and doing "this and that" at home hahahahah I was so fed up with 30+ females (and males) virgins with no reason and behaving like robots. Also the love triangle is not irritating at all. Genuine attraction, respect, very sweet affection, human nature 's normal behaviors, grey zones, i hope it s that good in later episodes too!
Though a "diet" like that could kill any human being by heart and metabolism problems. Very unhealthy, especially when having thyroid problems. A healthy diet is not that strict cause the body remembers and then you gain double the weight you lost. Plus the heart problems by such violent changes in nutrition. Very bad depiction of the right way to lose weight-they should have asked a doctor or even a dietician.
Just one thing - no one is wondering why 2 healthy people well in their 30s, having had previous relationships,…
You are lucky that in this drama they were at their 30s but not virgins. Most of the times, the main couple though in 30s, are virgins with no particular reason lol
Meahwhile, the supposed -to-be diet, was at least dangerous for any human being. She was eating like a baby goat. No doctor or dietician would ever recommend such a diet. And they had the nerve to show that her check up results were perfect after months of eating like that. Those dangerous diets were popular during 80's-90's when people were starving over veggies, and after 2months when they were trying to eat normally, they gained the weight they'd lost but doubled! Dont even mention the metabolism and heart problems that are caused by such violent nutritional changes plus the thyroid problems. pf pure crap
The Hype would have you believing this is a *wonderful, must not miss* drama. I beg to differ. ML turns FL from…
First i was a bit impressed and i kept watching. Last 3 episodes were pure sleeping pills. You re right about the ML, two expressions with eyebrow movement and thats it. I also got dissapointed about how their love story progressed. It wasnt relatable. Cold movements, no chemistry of a couple, bad direction, a normal woman with needs and a ML who always counts calories. I myself got stressed every time they were eating, thinking: "oh now he's gonna complain and start counting her bites" lol
Hahah! I thought the same as well when I started but got drawn in after a few episodes....sat there thinking why…
You re a hero! But his abs and steamy scenes are worth it! It has happened to me too, in other dramas and i consider them as my guilty pleasure. I couldn't go back to this one, but im glad you enjoyed! Thats the purpose in dramas
I ve started watching with zero expectations, as im a huge skip-drop watcher. Up to now (ep7) i havent skippped a scene. First thing i like is the FL character. She s not the usual introvert, clumsy, overdramatic female that expects a ML to save her out of her misery. I love that she wants to lose weight but her life is not depending on it. She is still active and very strong and independent, carrying her family on her back, dealing with her shitty colleagues, standind up for what she thinks is right to do. I also loved the ML's line where she said: "of course you wouldnt expect anything to happen between us" (meaning while she is overweight) and he answered: "you can never be sure about that". That was the answer that body shaming societies need to focus on. And we all know how Korea (and China-Japan) are suffering by these things. Up to now its a good watch-nothing extra ordinary but overall good. Edit: total disappointment towards the end. Next comment under spoiler
Don't forget, this drama is made by Chinese for Chinese, and all twists, arcs and artifacts are just a piece of…
Truth is im a fan of xianxia, but no matter how good or bad a drama is, i rarely see so many people wondering about so many things (i ve read many on Douban too by native chinese speakers). Personally i leave aside my logic when it comes to this genre LOL. I dont need logic, i just entertain myself and leave it like it is.
Actually, drama simplified some storylines and interconnected so many things that were not quite as linear in…
I dont have questions up to now, and even if i will, i put aside my logic when it comes to xianxia-so its not a problem for me-as i dont expect much-i just enjoy the main leads, the cgi, the story and thats all. I dont invest. I was talking mostly for others because as a xianxia fan, i ve watched and talked about many dramas of the same genre, and not in every one (no matter good or bad), people have so many questions.
LOTR can have so many artifacts and subplot but this one can't? Why?
Of course any story can have many artifacts. Its not about the quantity, but more of the good pacing and good narration, the way that an author/scriptwriter puts the events and the elements all together. For example: the narration in LOTR books is not as good as in the movies (though usually happens vice versa). Another good example is the books (and the movies) of Harry Potter. The pacing of main story and substories is almost perfect
Though i ve stopped at ep 18 so to wait for subbed episodes and binge, i read that many people are wondering about the plot, too many elements, artifacts etc, especially after ep 19. And i count that as a script and narration failure. They should have made it less complicated so people can enjoy. I mean its not LOTR or even GOT (though we didnt have that many questions in those 2 epic stories)
