I mean Shanai Marriage Honey is just a short, fluffy watch, a drama that has like 30 mins or less of runtime, so ofc the writers can't focus on each character or really go deep into things. I don't think this is representative of jdramas at all. I have watched a lot recently and I'd say that characterization and having a lot of depth is one of Japanese dramas and movies' strong points, tbh.

You just have to download the video files from the link provided and open it using VLC player or similar apps on your phone or computer. And then choose the .ass files in the subtitle options. Not really, it depends on the jdrama, just like with shows from other countries. Honestly, I like how jdramas are usually 6-12 episodes at most, because there's no dragging and the storylines are short and sweet 😅
this drama is basically if Parasite was played completely straight as a rom-com. yes, I know when you watch a drama you should suspend your disbelief and try not to watch with real-world ideas in your mind but... god, I hate rich people in dramas sometimes. like, damn, when the revolution comes, I hope all of the wealth the Lee family and their socioeconomic milieu have is seized and redistributed amongst workers and farmers T-T
