how similar is this drama to extracurricular?
I'd say this drama has the same dark, gritty vibes with children being placed in a tragic world of crimes. But The Bad Kids is a bit more cerebral, slightly less depressing and way less draggy than Extracurricular was in its first few episodes. Once you start this drama, you'll be hooked.

It's interesting for me to hear about that attitude about dating in SEA and East Asia. In South Asia, the general idea is that having boyfriends is considered completely immoral but if you don't manage to get married to someone of your parents' liking by age 30, then you're ridiculed. Cultural differences are so interesting.
