Ep. 4: I absolutely hate it how infidelity is treated in jdramas sometimes. The dude is a disgusting cheater and I don't care what kind of emotional complex Hisano has, wanting to knowingly break up a marriage is awful.
I will be honest, at first, I wasn't impressed by the pace and the overall production quality of the drama - it was slow and looked like a made-for-TV movie from the early 2000s. But I gave it a chance and this drama just shocked me with how good it was. It depicted young people on the cusp of adulthood really well and I could relate to everything - the attachment to our phones, the clothes, the way of talking, desperately searching for a job, how we often feel impotent and lost. But the greatest strength of this drama was the characters, how well they are written, how they develop, their warm, loving relationships with each other. Everyone in this drama sat down and communicated to solve their problems and the healthy way they tried to fix their relationships was refreshing. And, this may be the first time I liked BL - the gay relationship was so sweet and heartwarming.
Definitely give Shujin-ko a try. Easily a 8.5 or 8.9 from me. The OST is also simply beautiful.
That was the most intense, fast-paced finale of a drama I've seen so far, with so many revelations and twists I needed to catch my breath. I still don't understand the stuff about the paintings and the research but hey, everyone got their happy ending (except for Yasuharu, Teiko and Junko).
Kaede looked so gorgeous when she met Hakuro at the end! See, she just needed proper outfits lol. But honestly, ik Hakuro always liked Kaede to some degree but I feel bad for Kageyama. I can't believe Kageyama just went ahead and let Kaede date him. Why did they tease us with the intense sexual tension between Kageyama and Hakuro? T-T

I think Designated Survivor was the only good kdrama remake. Miles ahead of the American original.
Apparently they're making a Korean remake of SOOD, which should be... interesting
Have you seen Victim's Game?
er, aren't Akito and Yurika cousins?
