THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING!! I came for Imada Mio, Meme, and some fluffy romance tropes, and I walked away happy.
the plot was extremely fast paced and rushed, which makes sense since they had to compress so much manga and light novels into one film. the lore and worldbuilding was all over voiceover and I absorbed none of it.
I came for the romance and the romance delivered. Imada Mio and Meme were just so cute together. my fav trope is a couple healing each other. yeah, the FL is a bit of a damsel in distress but it makes sense bc of her backstory. it was heartwarming to see her grow with the ML's support. and I loved she made him fall for her too,
I loved seeing all the appearances from other actors I liked! Tao ofc, the Kanokari ML and my new crush, Takaishi Akari from JK to Haijin!
my only complaint would be this movie needed more time with the couple instead of the fantasy/action elements which didn't really work, I think. otherwise I loved this movie! overall, i'd say this is a solid 8.7/10.
one of the best Asian dramas I've ever watched. the nonstop humour, the feels, the bromance, the plot, the world building, the themes... all 10/10. season 2 when???
Please enjoy my stream of consciousness comments once more. no analysis, just my brain melting.
EP. 13: 20 mins in and she already forgave the dude who cheated on her and blamed for it
What a cursed workplace and what a half assed apology... Nice to see Suhyeok step up tho
They're gonna cram a lot in these two eps huh... he was against kissing like an episode ago, and I'm expected to believe these two had unprotected sex??
There's nothing about this marriage worth saving, jfc.... wait, did bro just crawl inside the TV cabinet ????
I've heard of last minute breakups but this.... how did they manage to ruin the only thing I liked about this drama - the main couple ??? tbf, I won't lie, I don't even understand what they're fighting about at the end of the episode, it felt like a fever dream at this point
One more episode and I'll be free
EP. 14: Ok, yeah, obligatory kdrama scene but that was a cool shot. Fuck it, I'll date Suhyeok myself.
What is going on rn??? Is this old man seriously gonna date this weird ass girl??? No.... No way..... NOOOOOOOO 😭😭
This drama, man.... No words... except put this creepy ahjussi in JAILL
I would never have the balls to google "should I get a divorce" on my massive work computer in the office, but y'all stay safe tho
I regret saying I'll date Suhyeok instead, this guy sucks. if someone who looked like Yoo Inna told me she liked me....
Y'know what? Very based of Bora, I'm proud of her for standing up for herself and telling this wishy washy idiot to go fck himself
I give the young parents with the shotgun wedding about 5 years. The boss and the employee "couple" are one newspaper exposé and/or HR violation away from a scandal that ends their careers (but most likely only of the low-income young woman with no connections)
I still like main couple but the misunderstandings & last minute fighting was just silly. But just standard kdrama plot development ig. they still cute tho and the visuals are 🔥🔥
in conclusion, this truly was one of the dramas all time. the writer should have kept their hidden talent hidden.
It was all well and good until Soo Hyuk received the call from his ex. When he decided to go I was like what seriously?…
i like where they're going with this storyline, but I wish they dealt with it earlier instead of endless scenes of Bora crying and making a fool of herself. hopefully, they don't rush the leads' relationship in the next few episodes
Oh the level of "told you so" i could apply to yall demonizing Soohyuk early on hahaha. I never fully believed…
first of all, he's not blameless. he still was not emotionally available, as even he eventually realizes. secondly, we never really saw much from Yuri. I genuinely like how they're developing that plotline, bc now we get to see that relationships break down sometimes due to both parties' foibles.
This drama is so weird. One minute it's so cringey/dumb and then next minute it has really mature & good writing
like, Sis really dropped in a reference to Auschwitz to describe her post breakup strategy....
AUSCHWITZ
but then, on the other hand... i was talking shit about about it but it makes sense about Suhyeok & Bora remaining friends. It's way too soon for them to be dating, since they've just started to move on. They seem to have a lot of feelings for each other but they also genuinely have a great friendship. Besides, at this point in their journey, they just need companionship from someone who understand what they're going thru. I love how they solved their fight and the kiss, it was wholesome and usually not seen in media.
Also what I liked about ep. 10 is that for the first time she's the one comforting him instead of it always being a one way street
finally, the way Yuri said relationships are meant to petty or whatever... that was ice cold 🥶🥶🥶 and some genuinely good writing. Bora's own silly strategies got thrown in her face and now she has to save Suhyeok because of what she taught others
