Here's another trailer with English subs. Looks like quite the CG fest, unfortunately. :/ The original Mojin film had a lot of CG, but they also shot on location a ton. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gj0Qku03Bk
LMAO what. Have you watched any length of Palace in the Clouds? It's like heaven and bagpipes, as we say. Can't…
It's pretty bad. Reunion was good, Ultimate Note was silly but fun. PitC reminds me of the earlier seasons, it's not good. (and I think all the newer Candle in the Tomb seasons are by far better produced and overall gooder than most Lost Tomb ones. ) Why do you think Worm Valley is worse than, let's say, Lost Caverns? I think the story itself is a bit...hmmm, goofy. But it seems better paced, to me.
Oh I didn't even realize Wang Yan Yang was in this! Nice. Also - I've seen on some Chinese sites that this is supposed to be the only adaptation of Candle in the Tomb supported by the author of the book. O_O Is that true?
I'm only 3 episodes in, but so far this is the quality we're used to! (I took a break from Explore with the Note 2, and good grief the difference is massive.) The creative camera angles and shots, the production design is stellar, the actors' chemistry works... The episodes are only about half an hour long though, so it goes by quickly! This is probably a good thing, as it feels very focused. No time wasted on padding. It's so great, like a nice fuzzy warm blanket. If we can get the two or three remaining shows of this length, with this production quality by the same team - Candle in the Tomb will be confirmed as the vastly superior tomb series.
It does look like they're producing many more sequels (possibly individually shorter) with the same cast. So rather than one series with 30-60 episodes, we'll get several shorter ones.

(hopefully. Let's hope they have ENG subs too. :( )
