I didn’t think I’d be interested in mainstream drama but the trailer looks good so far.

I noticed with iqiyi crime dramas, most of them are male centric or male focused… maybe there isn’t an opportunity in that genre for her yet; at least Chasing the Moon is female centric. She already has a modern, mainstream and historical in her pipeline, guess it’s time for her to do xianxia again… her dramas are quite diverse compared to other actors.

I didn’t read the novel yet (the novel is still on going)… I’ll now since BL is confirmed. I don’t know how far the script is going to take her character but the immortal name is the same as ALP.

Still is a rumor but being BL mostly works with IQIYI, it’s likely this one. This drama probably not going to air till the end of next year at the earliest, there will be long enough breaks from TTEOTM. Most xianxia dramas are very similar with the immortal/ demon trope, hopefully IQIYI hire a good scriptwriter.

Take about crazy fans…I saw a weibo clip where Yukee Chan (FL in one of his drama) got spat on by a fan (his fans denied she was one of them…).

Same. Hopefully there aren’t too many of those fans out there since the side ML’s of ALP (ML here) was not a good person (turned evil but regretted after- his ALP ending). Plus FL’s character didn’t get too much screen time in ALP.

You’re right about female centric bc I remember after looking into the film schedule his fans demanded more screen time from the production.., not sure if they made any changes to accommodate him. Regardless of the outcome, his fans will still be unhappy.

Yup they gave her a lot of oversized clothes…WTH. Hopefully she looks better in front of the camera. One thing I’m not looking forward to is that the ML got popular (many more crazy girl fans) after OFL signed him as ML…BL is first billing, so there might be some fan wars going on…guess it’s something that’s unavoidable.

I’m read there are many changes with OFL, so I didn’t bother. After what happened with TTEOTM, I’m wary with scripts/ dramas with substantial changes from the novel.

So far I’ve only read the novel for TTEOTM and SOKP with google auto translation. I’m planning to read Chasing once BL is confirmed.

Not sure if IQIYI will change them but the characters have the same name as it’s written by the same author- she written a few novels which turned into dramas, such as ZLS’s The last Immortal (novel name/hidden gods).

Chasing the moon shouldn’t really be linked to ALP here on MDL. One, it’s a different novel and two, it’s produced by IQIYI, not Tencent. I already see some negative comments on the drama page bc some ALP viewers prefer the original cast. I doubt IQIYI will cast any actors from ALP since they probably don’t want viewers to refer back to ALP (from Tencent)… it’s like giving their competitors viewership.

He’s a good actor but as for casting.., I don’t know who makes the decisions.., can be either the platform, producer, investors, or director?

This’s an IQIYI in-house drama (just like SOKP) maybe the casting is different than outside produced dramas? Wouldn’t that be nice but I guess his schedule is full or maybe IQIYI really want to promote newbies???

I like him too but this one is going to be produced by IQIYI, not Tencent. This’s not really a sequel to the other ones (separate novel with the same characters’ names) that this drama/ script focuses on the BL’s character and it’s a female centric drama.

Rumors are still just that but most fans believe this is it- just like casting for Northwards had been floating around for a while. Nothing is 100% until booting ceremony.
