Ranting: I was rewatching season 2 with family and I can't help but be hesitant about telling them there's a s2! What if this was a mistake and their image of season 1 greatness shatters?

It starts with one murder case, but it's like peeling back layers of an onion. The more you delve into it, the more complexities and interconnected events emerge, and the stakes keep getting higher.

It was too cartoonish. From plot to acting to styling. I suffered through it for Lee Joon Hyuk's five minutes screentime.

DAMN This would've been a SOLID gay shit. Finally watched the first episode and I have very little to complain*, the emotions, the attention to details, songs and editing, all surpassed my expectations. AND Zhang Xin Cheng's face is a feast. If not for the fear of frying my brain again I'd be busy re-reading Mo Du now.

* grunting about zero-empathy gene and Fei Du's hair length, ZXC would rock it and we were robbed.

It may not be the best in terms of direction, editing, camera work etc etc but they were GENUINE. Storyline, acting and the visible effort they put into keeping it real makes up for it. I have complaints but that's only because I'm comparing it to all of those well-crafted high budgeted dramas with exceptional scripting and cinematography.
