I feel like I need to stop reading the comments on dramas that are currently airing because the comment sections…
Also, Yeonsoo isn't one who talks about, thinks about, or shows much with regards to how she really feels, that's her personality, so it makes sense to me that we’ve been getting less of her narration/POV compared to Woong because she seems to suppress everything and pretend like things don’t affect her. Her expressions, demeanor, and eyes tell a story of their own though, even if we don't get as much actual narration/commentary from her side (though, I personally feel like we've been getting both sides' perspectives every episode). Both the director and the screenwriter for the drama are women too, and while I know that women can still be misogynistic at times/in some cases, I feel like it's less likely that there will be that kind of slant to a story that was written, produced, and directed by women. I feel like the problem is that lots of viewers (evidently) are misinterpreting/don’t understand Yeonsoo's character and aren't picking up on the subtleties and nuances from her side. As was shown in episode 8 (and throughout the whole drama too), sometimes the things that AREN'T said speak even louder than the things that are. This drama is trying to SHOW a story, not TELL it to the viewers.

I like all of the characters in this drama so far, even the ones that some people have a problem with for some reason. And for the people who are saying that they “don't want the main couple to get back together”: you DO realize that you're watching a romance drama, right? If you don't want to see them end up together, then just drop the drama, because comments like that are redundant when you're commenting on a ROM-COM drama where most of the story revolves around the main couple. Again--a lot of you don't seem to quite understand the story that's being presented. This drama is a realistic exploration into the ups and downs of a serious, long-term relationship, and their problems are evident, yet neither side is villainized and the viewers are able to feel for both of them at the same time. You can FEEL how the main couple each does things to make the other feel hurt and alone and rejected, while also feeling how they still have lingering feelings for one another and both secretly desire to get back together. And this drama is gonna show how they will eventually work through the problems that tore them apart and how they will gradually become better partners to the other.

I don’t get why some of you are so impatient with this drama—of course they haven’t resolved their problems yet, we’re only on episode 8 out of 16 episodes. If they had already resolved their problems by now, then the drama would be over with already because there wouldn’t be anything left to show. I don’t get why some you are being so quick to judge a drama that’s only halfway through airing.

I feel like I need to stop reading the comments on dramas that are currently airing because the comment sections are always filled with excessively negative and critical comments, most of which aren't very well thought-out or supported. I'm not saying that people can't be critical or share negative opinions about dramas (I do it too sometimes), but I feel like most of the negative comments on here tend to fall into one of two categories: some people are just being negative for the sake of being negative/trying to start something, and others seem to be missing a lot of the subtleties and nuances in the drama/don't seem to understand what kind of story is being told or how the story is being told, and, as a result, are sharing half-baked opinions/views.

Anyways, I think this drama is beautiful and magical, and every episode (especially episode 8!) really gives me the feels. This is such a cute and heartwarming/healing drama. I disagree with those who are saying that the storytelling has a "misogynistic" slant to it just because we've gotten more narration from Woong than Yeonsoo so far. I haven't gotten that sense at all and I'm usually one to pick up on/be bothered by stuff like that. The drama is only halfway through and there are still a lot of things that haven't been revealed/shown yet--let's just wait until the end before we start throwing around labels like that, because the second half of the drama will most likely show more of Yeonsoo's side/perspective.

Thank you! 😊 I'm hoping that any Kdrama viewers who are on the fence as to whether or not they should try watching this drama will see my comment and decide to give it a chance.

If this drama has anything to do or inspired by 500 Days of Summer movie, then I guess they won’t get back together.
I think that this drama was very loosely inspired by "500 Days of Summer," but the plots and characters are completely different, and I'm almost positive that they'll end up together in the end. The drama has a somewhat similar approach/aesthetic/dynamic as "500 Days," but it's very different from the movie, so I'm sure that they will get back together in the end.

This drama is soooooo good!!! I wasn't sure how the execution was gonna be and if it'd end up being cliche or boring, but everything has been super on-point so far! This drama is surprisingly realistic too--the characters, dialogue, and plot have all been really realistic so far and I love it. I love all of the characters and actors in this drama so far, and waiting for new episodes is killing me right now. This drama definitely deserves a rating of at least 9/10 (8.4/10 is way too low).

I saw some people commenting that it's kind of like Hometown Cha Cha Cha and it kind of is in some ways! The cinematography and production are soooooo aesthetic and beautiful, and there are a lot of really beautiful scenes filmed in older/more traditional neighborhoods/areas, which I really love. This drama is really a healing drama--watching it just makes me feel so calm and warm and relaxed. There are a lot of really funny and cute scenes and scenes that will make you smile in this drama--it's just so beautiful and heartwarming.

I feel like this drama was (very) loosely inspired by the movie "500 Days of Summer," seeing as it's similar in that the timeline jumps around a lot (but it's not confusing at all because the present timeline is still in chronological order), and it shows the number of days that they had been going out for in certain flashbacks, and also how the ML can't forget about/move on from his relationship with the FL. But I'm glad that the plot and characters in this drama are completely different and much better than "500 Days" (because I didn't really like that movie). It also kind of reminds me of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" a bit too, how it shows the ups and downs of their relationship over time, and how they continue to have the same problems and misunderstandings with one another in the present day, and the fact that they're so different is what's hindering them from having a harmonious relationship, but is also what keeps drawing them to one another as well.

I feel like this is a very realistic portrayal of relationships and the problems that couples can have. However, the fact that they used to date for several years (before separating and reuniting several years after they broke up) does NOT hinder the romance or chemistry in this drama at all. The leads have so much chemistry with one another, and the fact that they used to date for a long time makes their interactions refreshing/entertaining to watch because they know each other so well and are much more honest/upfront/candid with one another than most fictional couples are. Rather than the typical romance story, which usually depicts a kind of "puppy love"/"honeymoon" phase type of romance (the initial/physical attraction, the mystery of finding out about the other, etc.); this drama is about two people who know each other very well and who still care about one another despite all of the time that's passed and all of the issues they've gone through, and who start to fall back in love with one another. Moreover, you can feel how much they still love and care for one another, and also how deeply they were hurt by the other over the years, but they try not to let their true feelings show too much because they broke up really badly and both have a lot of pride. However, that dynamic/tension helps to create a lot of strong/good chemistry between the leads as they can't fully hide how they feel about the other and that they're conscious of/interested in the other despite having been separated for a long time and having tried to move on from their past relationship (unsuccessfully).

Just finished this. Episodes 1-10 were utterly FANTASTIC!!! I was mad I had to go to sleep and not just binge.…
I had the EXACT same impressions you did of all of the episodes you mentioned and of the drama overall. Homcha was good, but also really disappointing considering how strong the series started off and then all of the stuff that happened in the last 6 episodes..

Title Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Spoiler
Episode 15 was waaaayyyy too heavy, IMO... I'm fine with there being sad/heavier parts here and there, and I knew we were gonna find out Dusik's backstory in this episode. However, I wish that the writer would've tempered the episode with a bit more humor and some lighter scenes to make the episode not feel so overwhelmingly depressing/heavy, and to also make the episode more enjoyable to watch too. But, there was very little of both in this episode, which I find to be kind of bothersome since this drama is supposed to be a lighthearted rom-com (or so I thought). Like, I definitely will not be rewatching this episode when I rewatch the series in the future--this episode was a skip for me. It was super predictable and viewers had pretty much already pieced together what all had happened, so it wasn't necessary to spend this much time showing and talking about what happened to Dusik in the past.

And episode 16 looks like it's gonna be kind of sad/depressing as well. Yes, we're going to get Hyejin's marriage proposal and will most likely see a cliche wedding scene and all of that. But, if most of episode 16 is depressing/sad and/or cheesy/cliche, I'm seriously gonna lose it. This drama was on its way to becoming my new all-time favorite Kdrama, but the writing these past few episodes has been noticeably weaker and the story has been getting too depressing/sad/makjang-y, as well as cheesy/cliche/unrealistic, for my liking.

Again, I don't mind (and I even like) some sad/heavier scenes here and there. However, this drama sold itself as being a light and fluffy rom-com, that's what most people are here for, and it's been way under-delivering in that department these past few episodes and incorporating too much sad/depressing/unnecessary stuff into the plot. I want to see some more witty banter and funny/heartwarming interactions between the characters again before the drama ends. I kind of don't even care that much about the main leads' romance plot anymore because their dynamic/interactions has/have just seemed really off and artificial/cheesy/unconvincing ever since they both confessed their feelings for one another. I've been trying really hard to get into their romance/relationship with one another, but they, as a couple, just haven't been vibing with me after episode 10. Which is REALLY unfortunate, because I usually LOVE rom-coms, and I was REALLY loving this drama for the first 10 episodes.

I hate how Kdrama writers always do stuff like this...they don't know how to write endings most of the time, it seems like, and they usually end up ruining a perfectly good plot by adding a bunch of unnecessary drama/scenes/details towards the end that the drama doesn't need in order to be good. I'm fine with all of the stuff concerning Dusik's trauma and past, but I don't like how much the plot has deviated from the original storyline/essence of the drama during these past few episodes. I feel like the drama has been focusing on things that the viewers don't really care as much about and don't particularly want nor need to see/know that much about. I'm glad for the explanation on Dusik's trauma and how he became Chief Hong--I like that the writer tied up those loose ends before the end. However, IDK. There is just too much/many unnecessary drama/scenes being crammed in at the end and it's ruining the drama for me. And while I liked HJ a lot during the first 10 episodes, she's been annoying as a girlfriend character to DS, IMO, and I hate how stereotypical and predictable and cheesy/annoying her character has been with regards to their relationship ever since they started dating. I expected more (perhaps too much) from her/them in this drama, I guess...I just get annoyed when I see them together half the time now, even though I was hardcore shipping them earlier on in the series... *sigh*

is this a joke? i can't even begin, what a ridiculous plot. It's like they are questioning everyone's intelligence.…
I agree, the plot sounds sooooo stupid and ridiculous. I'll be shocked if he actually chooses to participate in this drama, because, like you said, this drama sounds like it's going to be a huge step down from the other types of dramas he's been acting in lately. I can't believe that a story like this even exists and that people are actually thinking of making it into a drama.. And I can't believe that CEW would even consider being a part of a drama like this.. Like, yeah, it's different than the other types of dramas he's acted in before, so I'm glad to see that he wants to try out other genres/types of dramas. But not this drama... I really hope that he comes across a better drama script soon and chooses to participate in a different drama instead of this one...

Am scrolling this page again - just in case I missed something while waiting for Saturday. Now am actually curious…
IDK why I suspect this, but I think that the cop (Eun Cheol) might have been the one who won the lottery. I also thought it might be Hwa Jeong or Du Shik who won the lottery as well, but since the other 2 mysteries of Gongjin are about them, I doubt the third mystery would be about one of them as well.

I'm also curious as to why Hwa Jeong asked for a divorce. It seems like she still has feelings for Yeong Guk, but it seems like she's insecure or something. I'm wondering if she overheard Yeong Guk or someone else saying something about her or their marriage and she decided to divorce him because she thought he would be happier being with someone else or something. But then she still has feelings for him, so it's hard for her to let him move on, or something like that. I'm curious what the real reason is as well.

Title Life on Mars
i just started this and on ep6 now. The crimes are nor scary and the violence is more realistic than scary.
Okay, so, there isn't a lot of gore/blood or graphic/detailed injuries or surgeries/autopsies or anything like that? Like, the crimes/injuries/violence are family-friendly/mild? I just want to make sure before I try watching it, because I don't like seeing blood/injuries/gore/etc. I'm fine with a little fake blood or non-graphic injuries (that look fake), but I don't like graphic injuries/gore, if that makes sense.

What do you mean by "the violence is realistic"? Do they show a lot of blood/injuries/etc. in this series, or not really? Is the violence graphic? I really don't like seeing blood/injuries/etc., which is why I've been hesitant to watch this series...

I'm currently watching Good Manager because Kim Seon Ho is also in that. Lol. It's okay so far. Definitely not nearly as good as HCCC, but it's kind of funny/entertaining.

And I feel you! The struggle is real. T-T No other Kdramas can compare to HCCC right now. It's literally all I can think about right now, and waiting for the new episodes every week is really hard...

Wait, is Police University a rom-com? I thought it was a different kind of genre. Is it violent/suspenseful, or not really? Just wondering.
