Do you guys think that Doo Shik is really unaware of his feelings for Hye Jin, or do you think that he's in denial/is trying to hold himself back from having feelings for her? It seemed like he had at least some interest in her from the very first episode, but then he keeps denying that he likes her and is pretending like nothing happened between them. So, I'm just wondering if it's really a case of him not being aware of his own feelings, or if he's trying not to have feelings for her for reasons that haven't been revealed yet?

What do you guys think? I'm curious.

thanks for the cinematographer, my gallery now is full of nice shots of Gongjin
I hate to break it to you, but Gongjin is actually a fictional town. 😅 The drama was filmed in Pohang though, which is a real city that you can visit in Korea. Lol.

Title Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Spoiler
Ahhh I'm loving this story, all the characters interactions and the great chemistry between Dusik and Hyejin 🤩!…
I also really, really hope that he's just suffering from PTSD and that he doesn't have some kind of illness... I'm also worried about that and really hope that the drama has a good/happy ending...

Wondering if i should pull the trigger or wait till it's over and then binge it. The eternal struggle.
Honestly, it might be best to wait until it's finished airing and then binge-watch it, because this is a very binge-worthy drama and it's torture having to wait for new episodes. Part of me wishes that I had waited to start watching this drama because now I don't know what to do with myself while I wait for new episodes since all I can think about is how much I can't wait to watch the new episodes. So, you might want to wait until either it finishes airing or until it's close to finishing airing so that you don't have to continuously wait before you can watch more episodes. That's just my input anyways.

This drama is sooooooo good! I wasn't sure if I would like it or not when I read the plot synopsis, but I fell in love with this drama from the very first episode, and every episode has just been getting better and better. Kim Seon Ho is soooooo charming and funny, and his acting is spot-on, and Shin Min Ah's character is also likeable and her acting is also fantastic in this drama as well. This drama has really good/interesting/funny supporting characters as well, which I love. If anyone is looking for a refreshing, feel-good, lighthearted, funny, healing type of drama, then I highly recommend this drama! It's been a long time since I've found a drama that I felt was really special/magical to watch, and that makes me smile ear to ear when watching it and always leaves me wanting more.

Title True Beauty
Well, I would love to see Park Yoo Na as a main lead in some drama, since I really like her, she is both pretty…
I didn't mean to imply that I think Yoona is less attractive. I personally think that Yoona is way prettier than Ga Young. What I meant is that Ga Young seems to fit Korean society's expectations of beauty more than someone like Yoona, in my opinion, and Ga Young also just looks like a really glamorous actress to me, whereas Yoona comes across as being more down-to-earth and relatable and real to me. Again, I haven't seen Ga Young act in anything, I'm only judging based on the pictures I've seen of her.

But, like, even just looking at the types of pictures that come up when you search for both actresses online, most of the pictures of Ga Young are very glamorous and like model-shot types of pictures, whereas the pictures that come up for Yoona look more natural/candid, like everyday types of pictures. I think Yoona is very pretty, but she's not glamorous-pretty, she's more relatable/natural/real-woman type of pretty, in my opinion, and I personally prefer it and I think she would give the main character a more relatable feel/vibe if she were to play the lead than Ga Young would, because Ga Young like checks all the boxes when it comes to Korea's beauty standards/expectations. This is just my opinion, though.

And lol! That would be nice if they could do 2 versions of the drama, just to compare. It won’t happen, though, obviously. Lol.

Despite all your pros I dont have cons since I dont know the work of Yoona, but i only have cons and I think Mong…
Also, the title of the drama/story is "True Beauty," and the message it's SUPPOSED to be sending (I'm assuming--I haven't read the comic or anything like that, but I've read comments about it) is that inner beauty/being yourself is what's most important and that you don't need to wear makeup in order to be seen as beautiful/for people to like you. However, by casting a super naturally pretty girl to play the main character (who's supposed to be average looking/"unattractive"), it feels like the drama is sending the message instead that, "You don't need to wear makeup in order to be pretty as long as you're naturally pretty to begin with." You know what I mean? It makes the story less relatable and a little problematic, in my opinion.

Like, I know that they are going to cast a pretty actress no matter what, but it would be nice if they cast an actress who does look a little more average without makeup and who is pretty in her own way, but doesn't perfectly fit Korea's strict beauty standards. I feel like the message behind the drama will become somewhat problematic if they cast an actress who already meets society's expectations and standards for beauty, even without wearing makeup.

I explained in my comment above (to ClaudiaKdramaFan) why I have an issue with Ga Young playing the lead role (I just don't want to retype what I wrote above, lol). Cha Eunwoo and Park Yoona acted together before, but their characters didn't have a lot of interaction with one another, so I think it would be cool to see them actually interacting with each other directly as the main leads, especially since they've known each other since high school.

And yes! I feel like Yoona would do a really good job if she was given the chance to play the lead role. I hope that she will be able to play a lead role sometime soon.

I've never seen Moon Ga Young act in anything before, I've heard she's a good actress though. I'm not doubting her talent at all, but I feel like she wouldn't be a good fit for this role because the character is supposed to be a girl who looks really "average," but becomes really "pretty" when she wears makeup, and I just feel like Moon Ga Young is way too pretty and glamorous for a role like this. I hate it when shows and movies cast girls who are obviously super naturally beautiful and pretend like they're "ugly" by putting glasses on them or something, but they still look really pretty regardless. It's just not very relatable or believable.

Yoona is also really pretty, but her beauty is a little different from Moon Ga Young's beauty. Yoona is also really good at acting and I feel like she would portray a character that's more relatable than Ga Young because no matter what the makeup artists try to do, at the end of the day, Ga Young is a super pretty and glamorous girl--she perfectly fits Korean society's expectations of beauty, and I feel like it will be a little disheartening to watch someone so pretty pretending to be "average" or "unattractive" when she's not. I feel like it sends the wrong message to viewers. This is just my personal opinion, though.

Am I the only one who wishes that Park Yoona would be considered for the lead role rather than a supporting role in this drama? I think she would be a much better fit for the main character than the actress they're currently considering, and, also, Yoona and Cha Eun Woo went to school together in the past and have acted together before, so I feel like they would have a more natural chemistry with one another than Eun Woo and the other actress. Maybe it's just me who thinks this, but I wish they would consider a different actress to play the female lead, and I think Yoona would do a good job in this role.

Title Meow, the Secret Boy Spoiler
Looking at the next preview and gathered from the last statement Hong Jo made at the end of episode 6, I reckon…
I agree, I think he's a crazy guy who's obsessed with cats and likes to hoard cats or potentially likes killing/torturing them. The idea of him being a serial cat killer also came to my mind. It seems like he targets cats that have been abandoned or that seem to be neglected by their owners, because no one will miss them if they go missing (and therefore no one will notice what he's doing).

I'm wondering if he actually returned Hongjo, or if we'll find out in the next episode that Jae Sun and Sol Ah spotted him holding Hongjo when they were looking for him (in his human form) and took him back before he could abduct him? Either way, that guy creeps me out. I hope the next episode isn't too dark/creepy, because it's kind of ruining the cute/lighthearted/fluffy vibe that the drama has been giving off so far. XP

Did this get episodes cut as well? If it did that's 2 of my favourite dramas that are cut now. A Piece of Your…
I don't think it got cut, I think it was always meant to be 12 (hour long)/24 (half hour long) episodes. :( Sadly. I saw pictures of the script for the 12th episode circulating around the internet back in January and underneath the part where it said "Episode 12" it said "Last Episode" on the front of the script. :'(

I think some of these drama review sites/Wikipedia just assumed it would be 16 (or 32) episodes long, because that's the case for most dramas, but this drama was originally meant to be only 12 episodes long. I was hoping that maybe they would extend the length of it to 16 episodes, just because it's so cute and lighthearted (I don't even care if the extra episodes were just a bunch of filler stuff--I just want to see more of these characters XP), but it looks like they kept it at 12 (or 24) episodes, unfortunately.
