What does a best couple award even mean? I only clicked on this article cuz I saw the name of that category and was confused. I don't watch award events because I don't care, but best couple does kind of sound like a fan award. If its not a popularity contest, then what else is it? How is it measured. Best couple sound likes which couple was/is the most liked. How else do you gauge that. π Like are they gonna be like which had more heartfelt scenes together? Or like chemistry? Or how well the acting from the actors were? Idk, it just doesn't make sense to me. π
Also, this part: "Aside from the online voting results, the Best Couple award is also determined based on the votes of each dramaβs production team, the internal votes of SBS and Studio S employees, viewership ratings, online buzz, and other factors." What does the votes from the production teams mean? Wouldn't they just vote for their own drama's couple? Or is what they're voting for something different? Is this: "the internal votes of SBS and Studio S employees" how all these award ceremonies go? Never knew its also based on internal votes. I've never cared enough to look up the criteria on how awards are given. I would've assumed their votes would go alongside the fan votes and not a factor of its own. Like do their votes weigh more? If they do, what if an actor or production team had some type of in with the employees. Nah I'm thinking way too hard about this. π Still, "viewership ratings, online buzz" sounds like popularity to me...
Anyways, I do see why some people would be confused/mad why this show is even on the 2023 awards list cuz from what I know about music awards. Don't they like stop counting songs released after September or something and Oct.-Dec. count for the next year so that it has time to generate an accurate depiction of its success. I could totally be wrong about that, but that's what I remember hearing not too long ago. But, from that, I would think the drama awards would work similarly. Shows that come out right at the end of the year would feel like they have a better chance at winning versus a show that came out in early January or something because its fresh on the mind. The hype of the show is current. But I guess that would still happen anyways.π€·πΎββοΈ
I'll stop talking now because if I don't post this now, I'm gonna end up having more thoughts and this is going to turn into a 20-page essay. Have a great day/night everyone!
