Most Chinese dramas are filmed and don't get released until a few years i.e. he could have filmed one in 2019 but it isn't aired until 2023. So, the list of his upcoming dramas isn't 100% reflective of his current filming schedule on its face. It may look like he is filming all 5 back to back, but he probably has periods of rest in between. I heard that he finished filming Royal Feast in January 2021, Zhao Ghe in 2019, She and her Perfect husband also finished filming and is also awaiting to be aired, and Lost in the Kunlun Mountains started filming recently :)
I decided to watch this because I came across the Ost on Youtube and I am a sucker for dramas with good Ost's so I searched up TLB and saw that people were raving about it. As such, I decided to watch it. Sadly, I enjoyed only up to about the first 30 episodes but from thereon, I felt like there was nothing really unique about it and I couldn't get attached. Ultimately, decided to drop it after trying to watch a few more episodes. :( Usually really like dramas with Dilreba so pree disappointed.
Mr. Cho was sus since a long time. But why is he doing it? For gold? I need to know who he actually is .I can't…
Same he was always fishy. Everyone could guess that something would happen. I knew from the moment when he asked Vincenzo if they could take out some gold, that it would be a trick. Honestly I'll be so sad if Vincenzo doesn't get his hand on the gold in the end... his been so generous, no doubt without another incentive but nevertheless, so generous.
I love the comparison between Vincenzo and Lawyer Choi by calling her his consigliere. We're working in shades…
Same. I loved that part. It's something that i've thought of before too; that Lawyer Choi is basically a Consigliere for Joon Woo, yet we despise her but root for Vincenzo although that was also his previous career.
Nah she wouldn’t be scared. That woman is so freaking shady. At first I thought she was a upright prosecutor...LOL
Same. I really thought that there would be a scene where we realise that we've been tricked by the director and that the prosecutor is 'actually ' an 'upright prosecutor' and all of the evil deeds that she did was the route to achieving the uprightness that she wished for within the judicial system. HAHA Butttt... after all this debacle we've seen.. i guess not?
I really enjoyed the drama and I was hooked... but then you get to about episode 33 and you could tell that the ending would be shit which was really disappointing. I really had high hopes for the ending but it ended just like that. Nothing major or interesting enough to make me want to rewatch it.
I agree. It was nonsensical that a person would take a video call whilst trying to salvage the plane. Also, I…
I agree with u about it being a quick scene I probably let her past crying scenes influence my judgement too quickly. I also agree about MA, Ithink that it was one of the dramas that she executed successfully.
My opinions and critiques composed of episodes 1-4.
The initial foundation of the drama was interesting; not unique in terms of time travel albeit different in terms of how they applied the concept and developed it further.
From Episodes 1-2, I was captivated by the writers take on time travel. I cannot lie however, that it started off with a bit of a rocky start - i.e. certain nonsensical scenes. Due to the plot and my excitement for this drama however, I decided to hold out until episode 4.
Episode 3 sadly did not improve. You get a glimpse of impending bad CGI and plot holes. I.e. If the CB could use CCTV without restraints, why didn’t they use it to ascertain the location of the brokers van.
Episode 4 however, is when you as a viewer start to really ponder whether you should continue with the drama. I am honestly surprised that the ML’s are still alive and that the CB managed to let the ML’s escape every single time even though they had so many 'attackers'. Not to mention, how PSH’s hands were miraculously untied. These were the major scenes which made me dissatisfied with the drama. After episode 4 I scrolled through the comments section on MDL, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I noticed that some viewers were telling other viewers to brush aside the bad use of CGI; which was extremely noticeable and repetitious by Episode 4 to the extent that you wonder whether the scenes are supposed to be funny. In my opinion, if the audience is laughing at the CGI of a ‘serious’ scene, that’s when you know that the drama was directed badly because everything affects and sets the tone of the scene. Sure, the CGI content is less than the majority of the drama but the fact that the bad CGI's are used at vital scenes; it leaves a lasting impact on viewers. Some of the scenes and storyline also border on the verge of a comedy SCI-FI because the scenes are just so unbelievable and illogical. Sure, it can be said that it is a drama so of course it’s unrealistic but truthfully speaking, and if I am being honest with myself, I cannot rate this drama highly thus far. Furthermore, people use the excuse of “its a drama” in response to others critiques, however that is not a justification for viewers to rate it highly just ‘because it’s drama so it can be unrealistic and crazy’ or just because they had high expectations of it. You don’t just suddenly tip the scale in ones favour or change the mode of measuring the quality of Movies or TV shows from drama to drama or movie to movie etc. how is that fair to other directors, writers etc. that’s an insult.
Overall, so far, the ideas are there but not executed 100%. I hope that it was because of COVID that the drama was produced and directed like this. I am going to continue watching this drama until Episode 6 because I do give Movies and Shows a chance before I decide to drop it plus the acting so far is great considering the poor director-ship. Someone wrote that you should put aside your logic and shut off ur brain to continue watching this, and I completely agree with that if you decide to try watching the drama. :DD
Here comes the rant. This show is becoming a bit ridiculous. First off The Control Bureau is a joke. What exactly…
I completelyyy 100% wholeheartedly agree with your rant. The CB is a joke. I mean the amount of times that the MLs have escaped and the smokescreen haha my goly.
So I read the plot, and I immediately said 'nope'. I love everything sporty in general, but not in my dramas thank…
I was not going to watch it as I thought that it would be based on baseball completely and the plot also did not grab my attention but I ended up giving it a go due to its popularity andddd 100% recommend! I finished it within 3-4 days. I watched episode 1 and found myself naturally pulled in.
Hmm reading the comments and a lot of people don't like Park Shin Hye's acting. Personally, she's a pretty good…
Sadly I'm one of those people. I feel like her bad (in my opinion :)) ) acting shone even more in the first 2 eps of this drama next to her co-actors. I like Park Shin Hye herself, but in weighing up her previous dramas, I find that her acting isn't very consistent and she fails more than succeeds in portraying her character. In my opinion she fails to deliver the emotions required, and her expressions tend to remain unchanged although she does try hard to express those emotions i.e. when she is required to convey 'happy' she still looks sad and when she cries it feels lacklustre.
The first episode was terrible! You can ask pilots about accidents like that, can still video call or go straight…
I agree. It was nonsensical that a person would take a video call whilst trying to salvage the plane. Also, I watch a lot of Air crash Investigation shows, so watching the first ep just made me go "wtf" and wonder whether they undertook any research because it just seemed so absurd.
Personally, I'm not a fan of Park Shin Hye's acting. In other drama's I could sort of stand it but in this one, her terrible acting (in my opinion) shone even more next to the more skilled actors. When she cried, I couldn't feel any emotions :((( Plus other parts in the drama made me really question her acting skills.
I enjoyed it a lot! I want season 4! I hope they change their minds and make another season. I will miss this…
same! I was devastated when i found out that there would be no season 4. I finished season 3 thinking that there would be season 4 and i was waiting for it until i searched up when season 4 would come out and then i found out that S3 is the end. My heart broke.
Yes! I really enjoy it. It's quite unpredictable and its different to other Chinese historical, fantasy drama that I have seen. The production is also pretty high quality. What type of dramas are you into? So far (I am up to ep25) the ML and the FL have not had much romance so if you are after deeep romance, maybe its not for u?
