Damn, that’s an amazing start! I love the show already. It offers a perfect mix of humor, crime and action. In parts, it reminds me of A Violent Prosecutor, One Ordinary Day and Vincenzo. So I can recommend it!
The show is a perfect example for ones that start pretty weak but it’s completely worth it to continue watching.…
Let’s talk about the few things I didn’t like: 1. Two characters die the most ridiculous way. Lazy writing at his best. Hao and Su Qing Zhu got such a stupid written ending for themselves. Rushed and out of character. 2. At some points the praise for the anti-drug enforcement is simply too much. It feels rather ridiculous and made me smile despite agreeing with some mentioned points. The CCP outro and it’s extremely uplifted praise for police forces is a nice Hommage. 3. The setting in a criminal city surrounded with Thai letters and English writing can be viewed insulting to a certain degree when you think about it. You can accept it as fantasy but if not it appears that non-Chinese countries are packed with criminals. 4. Some lines were so direct that it felt ridiculous. E.g. A: where should I go? B: I heard China has no drugs and is a safe country to live in. I mean… sometimes an indirect approach is better to send a message. 6. The crappy CGI in the first app (keyword: window). It drew me off. I’m glad I continued watching the show.
But the show is worth watching! So give it a shot!
PS. Don’t expect any romance! The show is focused on dark cat-and-mouse games between drug lords, corrupt cops and secret agents.
The show is a perfect example for ones that start pretty weak but it’s completely worth it to continue watching. It’s getting better with every episode.
The show was an entertaining watch with many twists and turns. The guessing game alone was pretty fun. I really liked the main cast. LYF was awesome in this role. SY was beautiful, adorably cute and has such a great way of speaking - strong female character. I really enjoyed the personal backstories of each character and their motivation.
The ending was fitting and a great closure to send a message. The typical CCP outro was a bit too much for my taste but I think that with most Chinese productions that have those included.
What’s going on? IQIYI is announcing the show all the time on SNS and it’s SOON let’s me hope that it’s…
Exactly. I think it’s normal when time schedules change for unknown reasons. It’s only annoying when this concerns dramas with my favs I’m eager to see like See You Again.

When my memory doesn’t play games with me then it’s similar to UNREQUITED LOVE. They delayed the show also a lot… and don’t get me started on Lovers of Condor Heroes… I’m still waiting for that one.
Exactly... Most countries produce war movies/dramas showing patriotism and heroes doing good for their nation.…
I agree with you. Especially in the war movie genre does every country add a patriotic approach to a certain level. I’ve never seen otherwise. Even the so-called anti-war movies have this note.
I came here to read serious opinions about the drama and not rants against China and it’s political system when the people doesn’t even have completed or even watched the show. It appears to me that several commenters don’t have knowledge about historical facts and cannot make a difference between documentary and drama. The show is entertainment. If it motivates the watcher to check certain facts and view the drama critical it’s already a win. But the black/white thinking and prejudices aren’t helpful for a MDL user that is honestly interested in watching the drama and cannot decide if it’s worth watching. To answer that: Yes, the show is worth watching!
The rating is a joke, and I doubt it’s based on honest opinions. When I checked out the show for the first time it had a 7,8 rating. One week ago it was 7,6; three days ago 6,7 and since yesterday 6,5. The viewer number didn’t really change and that’s why I assume the show‘s rating is more an expression of political opinion then a result from personal watch experience.
I watch it for Hu Yi Tian. I wouldn’t say it’s his best work but it’s indeed enjoyable and fun watching. I watched everything without FF and never felt it draggy. But I was also less excited about the storyline between Ding and Zhaong tbh.
The chemistry was okay. In fact, the actors portrayed successfully the lovey-dovey couple… but I can’t help myself but thinking that HYT and XF didn’t vibe much. Not sure if it was intended but he looks pretty annoyed in many scenes when the camera is not directly focused on him. This didn’t disturb the watch experience. It just caught my eye because I rewatched some HYT dramas after each other and compared the chemistry after my fresh impression. Maybe it’s just me. Idk.
Overall it’s worth watching. The PTSD storyline was pretty good. Not accurate at some points but it’s entertainment and no documentary. Therefore, who cares. It’s another step in raising awareness and that’s worth a lot.
The show was a swoon worthy light watch. I enjoyed this season much more then the first one despite liking both. Many cute moments and a beautiful love story. The new casting was a great choice. I enjoyed all characters and appreciated the mature and confident female lead. The major change to robot fights made me enjoy the drama even more. While the tech stuff from S1 were mostly draggy moments for me did. I enjoy the competitions in S2 so much. No draggy Moment detected in the show! The only downside are the flashbacks of 10 seconds that can be skipped when you decide to binge the drama. In fact, I preferred S2 a lot more and one reason for that is that they eliminated all weak spots from S1 for me. In addition, it’s fair to say that it’s the drama where you see Hu Yi Tian smile and laugh the most.
If you like Makjangs that’s your show!
