Is it worth worth watching ?The GG1 I didn’t finish, didn’t like acting’ of the main pair. . How is he doing…
My main issue with S1 was the childish female lead and I’m so glad that they didn’t repeated this mistake her. In S2 the leads are cute and well casted together.
The age difference in the drama is a maximum of 5 years and not more. I don’t want to tell you anything. My personal opinion is just the opposite. One thing I appreciate of GGS2 is that the fl isn’t an immature, stupid girl but a clever woman which is aware of who she is and who she wants to be. I didn’t like the Appledog casting from S1 at all and I’m satisfied with the change. When I read all characteristics of your observation I’m indeed wondering if we watched the same show… the only character that fits the bill perfectly was the fl in SS1. We don’t have to agree in this matter, tastes are different. But I can tell you that it’s also believable as noona romance imo because she looks older then Yitian - even when she appears younger as her actual age to be clear.
Why are you attacking me when I just stated facts? Yes, I watched GGS1 and saw the actress. Tbh I prefer the recasting a lot and don’t see an issue with it. Noona romance means only that the women is older then her love interest. That doesn’t include a specific number of years. The casting directors chose actors around the same age to solve the issue. The fact that the fl looks younger then her actual age isn’t a huge problem in my opinion. It’s still a noona romance.
I am trying really hard not to dislike that Na Sheng’s character. I just don’t get her character. Yes, she…
I feel the same! Not so much because of her behavior towards Su Mo but because of her naive girly character. In general I like honest characters but in this case she’s too much and only cares for herself and Yan Xi. All her games makes me wonder about the audacity at all. It’s annoying that she’s unable to grab the seriousness of the situation and just plays around.
After reading all the comments it seems that 1. People who watched the animation or read the original novel and compare it to this live action adaptation dislike the show 2. People who watched this material for the first time left positive comments and enjoyed the show 3. All seem to agree that the CGI and pacing (due to the cuts and partially writing) could’ve been better handled.
Well, I belong to the second category and I enjoy the show very much. I also agree with the opinions from the third category. Because I don’t compare with book or animation I love the chemistry of the leads. I don’t see a problem with it.
PS. The additional discussion about “Li Yi Feng being a lazy actor because he didn’t lost weight for the intro story” is from my western POV hard to understand. I prefer my favorite actors healthy and not drawn into the method acting category when it’s not their preferred work method. But it’s interesting to learn about the Chinese perspective about these kind of issues.
PLUS the most annoying part of the show is that the people are always talking to each other’s backs. Every time a discussion starts someone is positioned in front of the camera and the other cannot face him. That’s so impolite and ridiculous because it happens nearly in every scene. ;)
… and the character Na Sheng makes my eyes roll all the time. Annoying girl!
And? It’s produced by a communist country for its own citizen. Do you point out all capitalist propaganda in…
Tbh I’m not sure if it’s a flaw or a characteristic of the genre itself to use patriotism and political propaganda. That’s rather something that’s used for war movies and shows from all around the world. That’s why I’m irritated by your original statement.
At ep 12 rn liking it so far but this series is promoting communism...
And? It’s produced by a communist country for its own citizen. Do you point out all capitalist propaganda in western or Indian war movies and dramas as well? I’m honestly curious.
OPINION ON RECENT COMMENTS: I think it’s normal for the genre to be extra patriotic. I’ve read many complaints about the praise for communism. Tbh I find it ironic and hypocritical. It’s fine to be not a fan of a specific political system. But do you all also point out the overly hyped capitalist propaganda in western war movies and dramas? No system is perfect. It’s weird to hold the prejudice of current politics against an historical drama that produces for its own country and sticks to basic facts. This critic has nothing to do with the show but more with yourself as watcher! Think about it!
