I’m in the last phase of #DevilishJoy and the show is so unexpectedly draggy and repetitive. The shallow characters aren’t helping as well. It would’ve worked better limited to 10-12 eps imo.
Interesting show! I really liked the main leads and their chemistry. A pure power couple and like the other two parts of their flat the minority of people with morals. So many selfish idiots filled the show which are pretty realistic after all these pandemic experiences. I can recommend the show.
I only had SLS in the Korean version which is the worst of all when we’re honest. For MG, HYD and the current…
Agreed. I also see a lot of inspiration from MG. I guess they’ll mix all versions and don’t hold back with the typical Thai elements. I’m already hooked.
It seems like the episodes don't come with subtitles already added for this drama, so the subtitle team on Viki…
I can only speak from my personal experience as translator. I remember that in my teams was always a lack of segmenters and the Channel manager pointed out that it’s a general problem. Personally I’ve never met CM who was able to do the segments. One time we subbed everything within the first hour and Viki user were able to see 98% but when the pressed play it was only original language. So we got many harsh comments and angry ratings. The problem was we had only one segmenter in the team at that time and he had a job. So it took another 48 hours to be completely watchable for people who needed eng subs. After that we talked in a forum about the matter and many CM told me that it’s a repetitive problem with current airing shows. So, that’s my personal experience and I can imagine that it’s again the case with Melancholia. It’s fine if you don’t believe it. It’s just a theory and feels like a deja vu for me.

I think the subtitles are complete. But the segmenters are behind. If you watch the show without fitted segments you can’t see the subtitles. It’s a huge problem for Viki that they have only a small number of volunteering segmenters. But that’s exactly the problem with airing shows that appear to have slow subs. I don’t want to contradict a prior comment. Just explain the whole context. :)
