Hollywood: Teens looking for murderer to become heroes and serve justice.
Japan: Teens looking for a murderer to experience the end of their curiosity and fascination with death.
I’m just joking! The movie was pretty good. The calm vibe and introvert characters were indeed interesting as leads. The chemistry between the actors was also one of a kind. I liked the realistic storyline and the personal growth of everyone. The scary vibe and the weird situation are well directed and I really liked the refreshing script idea. Maybe I’ll read the book as well. I can recommend it. ;)
The movie is a mix between healing film and melodrama. All characters are broken and searching for the reason of their existence. The root of all evil lies in the abuse of the father. Our main character is a tragic figure. The only love he ever experienced reminds him permanently of his guilt. He tries to protect her and seeks salvation for his brothers which also suffered from the cruel father without his knowledge. It’s a well made movie with a hard topic.
The movie had interesting ideas and was bloodier then expected. The main characters were rarely likable and the police appeared incompetent as in other Korean movies. The portrayal of the actors was pretty good and some angles and surprises are also included. I enjoyed the movie but it’s not the best of its genre.
It’s only you. Both looked very different for me. Maybe you’re impression changes after 100 more Asien movies…
I never said that. It’s more directed in “You have seen the actors in several projects now and are more familiar with them”. The accusation of racial issues is a no go!
It’s a worthy successor to EXIT. It’s a well executed movie with lots of humor and ofc a bit tragedy… no korean movie without genre mix. I wouldn’t say that it’s a tearjerker. It wasn’t that sad and focused more on the light entertainment.
