I love the show! Since I’ve seen it I’m always on the hunt for similar shows to satisfy my addiction. If you have any ideas for similar dramas please recommend them to me. Thank you!
I’d wish that Li Yi Feng would finish the trilogy. The new casting is a pity. But I have to agree with the other comments. When the synopsis changes indeed the epic love story I won’t watch it. The idea itself sounds terrible and not made for the fans. For this reasons it’s a good decision that my favs won’t participate in this script. My journey ends with Season 2 and my own ideas.
Not gonna lie! It took me 9 months and four attempts to finish #UnrequitedLove. The fl and all female side characters were annoying. The draggy moments increased and in the end it wasn’t worth beating through all the pain for me. 7/10
#YouCompleteMe consists to 2/3 of business talk and 1/3 of cute moments and all the drama. The beginning bored me and I put it on hold for 4 times but overcoming ep 10 it was indeed fun to watch. But I hated the additional SL so much - tbf the only annoying character! 7,5/10
The romance was pretty cute but it wasn’t the focus of the movie for me. The relationship between the sisters and their parents & male lead were the foundation of the film. Respect was the key all along. 8/10
Here and There had a promising synopsis but didn’t reach its full potential. The story was believable for me and well explained. The motivations for both characters were obvious and not hidden. The question is: Was the movie produced as slice of life drama or was character growth expected? Personally, I tend to chose option one. The female lead was unique, intelligent and a bit selfish. The male lead stayed true to himself and openly communicated about his doubts. But where does the movie lead us? To be frank I am not sure. The characters passed time in quarantine with each other and filled each other’s loneliness. I passed time with watching the movie. It was an interesting approach but the beginning teasered more important topics as the rest of the film delivered. Therefore, it was an okay watch but nothing someone has to be watched. 6,5/10
I don’t understand why everyone calls this movie a romcom. From my understanding the movie is a mix of melodrama and healing genre. The first part is irritating and hard to get in to, the second part makes you cry your eyes out. Overall, it has the typical melancholic Taiwanese vibe.
Night in Paradise shows the real Jeju-do. All the places and it’s vibes were the same as I experienced it in the past. Not the perfect settings and unique spots but indeed the real side of the island. But let’s talk about the movie: The movie is a slow burn gangster story with traumatized main characters that portray their pain very convincing. The high ranking gangsters were also interesting to observe - the conflict between moral and immoral mobsters is ‘old school’. Well, is their honor in crime itself?
The synopsis is not new and less surprising. But the movie draws its power from the melancholic moments and it’s bloody conflicts, and that’s pretty entertaining. A wise man said “Only Koreans can make the same movie over and over again but keep it entertaining.” That fits pretty good to this movie as well. Considering the ending, I have to admit that I got what I hoped for. Thank you for that!
I don’t know what I expected it but it was definitely more then I got. The actors doing a fine job but the script is weird and too weak. The whole story didn’t captivate me much. The jokes are mostly unsuccessful and not on time. The whole issue was just weird. Not my taste! 2/10
Much needed movie about taboo topics: ageism, feminism and the conservative coping of making the victim responsible. Very good portrayal of desperation and empowerment!
A heartwarming movie about the difficulties in life. The movie describes pretty good how everyone has to cope with its own issues… and that family can be horrific or a safety zone. Beautiful cinematography with amazing actors. 7,5/10
