A beautiful movie about the irony in life and how you can gain strength from tragedy. The actors portrayed their characters very good and made me suffer with them. The beauty in the little details makes this film unique. 9/10
Definitely! Tbh I have not watched liar games or any other drama with similar gaming story but this is undoubtedly…
Good to know! I wasn’t sure since he told his daughter he has a surprise for her and the only new thing was his terrible hair. That’s why I drew the connection. Well, I’m an over thinker. ;)
I thought the hair was just randomly picked when he saw the sample model. Also, did the police really die and…
Yes. I agree. From the start I had a bad feeling for him and his ending is indeed the most tragic one. Since the show builds up a “realistic” view I doubt that he survived the bullet and the cliff.
Squid Game was one of the high anticipated KDrama in 2021 for me and I got rewarded. It was a great watch with creative games and interesting characters. Despite that imo are still the Japaneses master of the Death Game genre. 8/10
I agree with most of your review. Tbh I found the last 5 minutes unnecessary because they are just brought in to teaser a second season. That’s where I agree with you! The show don’t need one. But it’s a Netflix production and this fact alone offers the possibility. The show was indeed entertaining and some games creative, especially the second to last one. Compared to other shows of this genre, in Korea it’s most likely Liar Game, and for other counties many Japanese movies and shows, Squid Game is a solid contender and stays in the middle field. I had fun watching it and as you said it’s a good one time binge. BTW what’s with the red hair? Did I miss something? Was it connected to the daughter?
Cute start! Reminds me a bit of Warm and Cozy but HTCCC is much better. The characters are really nice and not annoying. Also, it’s really cute and I’m looking forward to a sweet love story.
#DP was an amazing show. It directly pointed out the bullying, assault, mental stress and the hopeless ignorance of the situation within the military service. The society critic is on point after the latest news coverages. Tough watch! 9/10
#YouthOfMay is a beautiful romance in front of terrible situation. It took me months to finish it because of my conversations with victims of the Gwangju massacre. The accurate portrayal was well made but it is a tough watch. Great actors and script! 10/10
The whole documentary is so devastating and well done. It was a tough watch. From an outside perspective I felt so much anger and sadness. I can’t even imagine what the parents and families must have gone through.
I think many commenters are missing the point of the movie. It’s well made and portrays a sinister reality. The “job” of both is suspected to be routine in many Gangnam clubs. That’s why it’s even more disturbing that kmedia helped covering up (hopeful unintentionally) with headlines that weren’t focused on the main issue. Furthermore, I don’t understand why people defending and praising the main characters. Ofc, they weren’t completely evil but definitely not innocent. Considering what they did both should rot in prison. There’s no need for excuses. However, the relationship between the three leads portrayed the teen emotions very good and what could happen when you decide to follow the dark path. Therefore, worth watching! But braise yourself for violence on women.
