If the actor is the problem they should cast different ones. Not surprised though, the other guy is Golcha Jaehyun,…
At this point I think the production just wants to keep the actors for their established fandom. The idol is from Golden Child but I don't believe they're that popular but they are under WOOLLIM that are under SM Entertainment so the double bang makes sense why they took out all the BL. Sad...

Anyway, I'll keep supporting actors and idols like SF9 Zuho who are brave enough to take on actual gay roles.
On Unintentional Love Story Mar 28, 2023
I read the original manhwa like a year ago so i can see they really kept the slowburn. Though, I had to stop reading the manhwa at times bcuz it got so slow and boring, that only the pretty artwork kept me going. And in live-action I felt the same way.

The main couple are both so mild in personality that it takes a while to see any sparks. Tae Joon's actor is nice to look at and he plays his character well, being the moody and reserved type. Won Young's character, however, kinda bugs me at times. He seems friendly and sweet, but also feels kinda fake at times. Like he's forcing himself to be this way to be accepted and liked. I think I felt the same way when reading the manhwa as well. Then at other times he seems dense or oblivious to the situation he's gotten himself into.

I actually wish they gave the secondary couple more screen time, because their personalities and relationship seems way more interesting to watch.
On High School Return of a Gangster Mar 28, 2023
For real though, I think it's Yoon Chan Young's company doing damage control, requesting the production to cut out the BL element. Because the actor's IG literally lost 200k followers after the drama announcement. I guess the homophobic fans won.
On High School Return of a Gangster Mar 28, 2023
So I hear it's gonna turn into another bromance story.

Kinda hypocritical since the production house already did "Unintentional Love Story" that's currently airing now, unless they gonna surprise us later with a bromance ending there too. While the director already did Love Class. But then again the main couple felt forced together at the end, to me, personally.

The other suggestion is that it was the main lead's company that won't let him play a gay character. The same way we never got a kiss between the main characters of Cherry Magic. Because it was rumored that one of the main leads wasn't allowed to kiss another man due to his own company's contract.

Either way, I'm not watching. I've had enough of bromance stories. Why bother when there are other actual KBLs being produced now to support.

I was pretty turned off by how obessesed JiWoo was with YooNa in the beginning and then somehow feel for RoA at the end. Didn't feel realistic to me, personally.

i watch from viki and they combine two episodes into one like 1&2, 3&4, 5&6. So the gaga episodes are split just as the history company intended. thats why mdl lists this series having 20 episodes because they actually release 2 episodes a week
On HIStory5: Love in the Future Jan 14, 2023
After watching 3 full episodes (or 6 episodes at GagaOOLala) I can honestly say I'm enjoying this show. For reference, I was into Taiwanese Rom-Com in the early 2000s as a young teen. And this show is exactly the stereotypical Asian Rom-Com back in the day (not sure about now). The ridiculous plot, the random storylines, slapstick comedy, over exaggerated acting, sometimes even bad acting, the cheesy romance tropes. It's all for the sake of entertainment! So why ya'll so serious? If you want something serious and deep try 2000s Asian BL movies it'll make you down right depressed.

All, if not most, of the original directors and scriptwriters have left the hiStory brand so do not expect things to be the same as before.
On HIStory5: Love in the Future Jan 6, 2023
this drama is what you get when you try to get a sitcom actor and a wannabe gangster to fall in love. its awkward but lets see where this goes. and it gives me classic taiwanese romcom vibes rather than the old hiStory story style

It wasn't the actor who played Mu Yeong that was arrested. It was the character that played Joon Seok
oh, i guess they got no excuses now then
On Oh! My Assistant Dec 27, 2022
Apparently, the original actor for Mu Yeong was arrested, so Chan Bin was the replacement. Unfortunately, his acting was cardboard level. The first few episodes were good and the last few episodes were blah. It's like once the replacement came they decided to film the drama backwards and that's why they seem more awkward towards the ending of the show.

Honestly, the best acting in the show came from the supporting actors for Joon Seok and Min Yeong.
On The Director Who Buys Me Dinner Dec 20, 2022
I like how they'd have the dramatic moments paired with romantic background music to start then the mood changes the next second to a comedic tune, making you giggle at the scene. It's like the drama is telling us not to take it too seriously and just enjoy this silly little drama. But still, I wish the episodes were longer.

At first I thought the editing was too choppy, but once I read the manhwa it kinda made more sense? Because the webtoon is fairly short compare to other manhwas.
On My Tooth Your Love Dec 17, 2022
After watching episode 11 and the previews for the last episode, I feel like there's going to be a season 2 like We Best Love did. Because too much has been revealed and can't be resolved in just one episode. Plus they haven't even gotten Bai Lang to a therapist yet.

I know everyone is pretty pissed (so am I btw) about what the father did to Xun An; and calling it "cliché" and stuff. But that's reality, there are elder "traditional" Asian parents who still beat their kids, even as adults. Yes, it's sad, and is still a thing in Asia. It's possible Xun An experienced this as a kid too, that's why the mother even offered him a pillow as comforting words.

Plus you can tell from how they had demonstrated scenes of BaiLang's panic attacks early on, the writer wanted a certain rawness to be part of the drama. And I guess for Xun An's issues that he has to deal with is a strict father. I hate it, but I guess this is going to possibly mobilize a season 2 as I think BaiLang will reject Xun An after realizing his family's disapproval.

After enduring more than a decade of sad BLs, here I am again with this zombie love story. I know how this is going to end but I'll watch it till the end anyway cuz I'm somewhat invested.

Masochist thoughts, what if Koichi's corpse never came back to life, what if this is all Mitsuru's imagination to cope with his loss and he's actually in an asylum right now thinking all this up
On I Will Knock You Nov 29, 2022
This is a fun little show, not too deep, great laughs from all the cheesy cringe. Good break after all the other intense BLs I had been watching. Thi looks like a literal cartoon character, I can't believe the actor is 27 years old. He has such a baby face. While Noey looks too pretty to be a gang leader LMFAO

SMH, second season, huh? I was hoping for a whole new series for Mos and Bank with a better story and director.
If we're gonna do this, I hope they can do a better story line than Yai having to babysit his new stepbrother in New York with Mangkorn, because that's what it's looking like to me after the end credits with this new Tao guy. Seriously, at this point they should really just do a brand new story because this doesn't follow the original novel at all anyway according to all the readers I heard.

Gimme merman Mos with expeditionist Bank set in the 1890s stranded on a deserted island, please! Anything else but a season 2 of this oddly edited, bad premise of a story.

Your third paragraph is really sad to read in this day and age. I'm actually stunned and find myself surprised,…
I heard Perth speaking Thai on his Youtube channel and his Thai sounds pretty natural to me so not sure why he keeps getting roles with minimal lines.

But in general mixed-Asian actors who visually look white-passing (or has mainly European facial features) tend to not go far in Asian countries' entertainment business, like always getting only supporting roles. When Asian audiences see a European looking face they just think "oh a foreigner", "you aren't one of us", "you do not fit into our main story/narrative" mentality. This is what I gather coming from a family of Asian immigrants and watching Asian dramas all my life.
