Legally Romance has to be on this list. As well as Put Your Head On My Shoulder. Have seen four of the six mentioned. Good dramas for a 'feel good' watch.
Having watched both the drama and the movie. I prefer the movie due to the chemistry the main leads share which was honestly lacking in the drama. The kiss in the lift gave me butterflies. Obviously the story was condensed and probably if you haven't seen the drama first you may find it abrupt, but overall a great watch.
First I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. There was no unnecessary misunderstandings or communication issues. Both Dylan Wang and Esther Yu portrayed their roles beautifully. Even the second lead Zhang Ling He was graceful in his role.
The storyline was neat and clean too, except for the ending. The problem I have with this ending is that it didn't give closure of a few of the characters. What happened to Immortal Emperor? What about Li Yuan, was he executed? How about Dong Fang Qing Fang and his brother? How thrilled were Shangque and Xuefeng to see him back? The drama wasn't just about DGQC and Orchid. It was about these others too.
Having said that, in my opinion, most of the Chinese fantasy dramas have terrible endings that never do justice to the story. Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, Ashes of Love, Legend of Fuyao, Love & Redemption, Princess Agents, Scarlet Heart, etc. none of them had great endings. So I guess LTFaD ending wasn't that bad.
It just leaves me wanting for more as I loved seeing DFQC's relationship with Changheng, Shangque and Xuefeng. I would have liked to see a bit more of Orchid and Jieli.
