Its speaks to how good the story is that we can ignore all of that. I am mostly skipping the other side characters arcs especially that sect lady - there was a limit to how many times I could roll my eyes to that desperateness so now I just ff. Its really bad, every scene with her in it, if they are not discussing a case, I skip it.

It didn't bother me the first time because I was too invested in the story and it was only for those early episodes so I forgot.
Am only noticing it now because am watching this after finishing Love and Redemption and the CGI in that was top notch so its really sticking out. Am, now past those episodes so its back to the fun parts

ahhh, that makes way more sense. These script writers have got to stop cutting corners with their characters. They made him so important simply to brush him off. He essentially became a plot device to further the story along and create angst.

He was very good in both princess silver and Ruyi royal love in... He really should have more lead roles coz the dude can ACT!!

Let's not forget the betrayal as well.

I would have liked a little more nuance in explaining his choices and why he made them. Maybe I missed it and it will be explained when I watch with subs but right now it feels like lazy script writing. Its like the writer said, lets have him get an epiphany that he was wrong and then he chooses to give up his position, his power and his life.

What happened to all that 3 realms BS he was always spouting, what made him realise that he was causing more problems than solving. If he cared so much about the 3 realms why was he perfectly happy to annihilate an entire sect and also all the humans with that giant jar thingy. So many questions.

On further reflection, am disappointed with how things ended with HC.

Try let's shake it, its definitely a unique mix of fantasy, romance and aliens. There is even a season 2 but that is not yet fully subbed.
