This is not a drama you treat too seriously. The Director is Hong Kong and the whole drama feels very Hong Kong style. Very dramatic, exaggerated music, and even makeup style is very TVB. But its good in its own way or if you looking for something different.

Its rather similar to Story of Kunning Palace. Even with similar red flag male lead. The romance IS slower tho, with both sides still suspecting each other at 9
