We'll see. Personally I prefer that the essence of this Male lead's core aspects remain the same. I don't want the male lead to be altered into a softer version of his true self that we see in the novel... Anyway, no matter what, due to curiosity, I shall be watching this drama.

He is 100% Chinese. His hometown is so close to Rusia so he has the looks of half chinese. CMIIW.
There's nothing to correct, I guess. My curiosity got satisfied, but based on the logic behind the argument you stated here it implies some of his ancestors must have mixed with people from the Russian border, otherwise he won't be looking like this😄🙂.
