I think based on what I watched so far, the story of the drama has more depth, so the main characters can be taken more seriously. In the novel, there was lot of hilarity, but I felt real bad for the male lead in his first and last life as a mortal, and I didn't feel like taking the relationship of the main leads or their choices seriously. So I was apprehensive about this drama. But when I started watching it, I realized they deviated from the original story here & there, but in a good way. So I'm loving it so far.
They already did the misunderstanding trope with the Shifu and disciple tribulation - but it was less annoying…
Yes, me too. I liked how even though the female lead as a disciple, misunderstood her shifu, she still chose to stab him with the hairpin he gave her on a spot kn his body which didn't kill him😅😆
2nd life was just ok, but the their ending in second life was special to me.
