Exactly!I agree with you on everything except regarding the male lead. Both Tantai Jin and Cang Jiumin so far,…
Well, I do agree with you about the part whereTantai Jin didn’t tell her the entire truth regarding who all he killed and why he attacked Shang kingdom & their emperor. But I think he did did it deliberately out of sadness. I would like to remind you that before this heated argument between the couple episode, Ye Xiwu went and revealed Tantai Jin’s plans or next move to Xiao Lin. That was so inapplicable and more like betrayal of his trust in her. So, I guess, Tantai Jin deliberately did that because he was upset she never supported him or believed in him( remember, she was trying to win his love by doing all things to please him at that time without revealing the full truth). Maybe in that heated argument scene, Tantai Jin in his anger and sadness, wanted to provoke her by making her think he was completely bad. Maybe in that split moment, he was tired of being balanced and good to please her when she never bothered to think that way about him.( remember, all the soul nails weren’t out of his teardrop at that time). Personally, I don’t think Ye Xiwu should’ve gone and revealed Tantai Jin’s plans to Xiao Lin without telling him because Tantai Jin had many justified reasons to attack Shang kingdom and kill their emperor. Even if Ye Xiwu didn’t like his move, she could’ve at least warned him about what she intended to do. Instead she was there acting all lovey-covey & then suddenly backstabbing him. It’s just not him, any character would’ve been taken aback by this. I guess at that time he momentarily reached a point where he didn’t care about how he is ye Xiwu’s eyes because she didn’t seem to care about him anyway(at that time). Maybe that’s why he took initiative to make her misunderstand him by telling he4 half-truths because she always ended up misunderstanding him( at that point of time, at least from his POV). In my opinion, in his past life as Tantai Jin, he never took initiative to do anything inappropriate against her or take the initiative to deliberately make her misunderstand him unless she took the initiative to hatch a plan or take the initiative to make a move against him that might weaken him. Maybe the rape drug case where Ye Xiwu tried to drug Ye Bingchang can be considered an exception where Tantai Jin took initiative to get involved even though Ye Xiwu never thought of getting him involved by making a move against him…
Will these two ever learn how to trust each other, to just sit down, have a chat nicely and honestly regarding…
Exactly! I agree with you on everything except regarding the male lead. Both Tantai Jin and Cang Jiumin so far, always try to approach the female lead to talk and sort things, but then the female lead pushes him away with her cruel, insensitive, harsh replies, and this leads to the male lead misunderstanding the female lead and thus, the cycle repeats! Only in the dream arc, did I find the female lead(Sang Jiu) taking initiative to approach the male lead (Ming Ye) to talk and sort things out. Otherwise outside Bore's dream, it's always the male lead who takes the initiative to ask the female what the hell is the problem and what's wrong, and the female lead ends up giving half answers.
It is her mission, and with his behaviour he made her lose hope she can change him. No matter if its due to misunderstandings,…
A clever female lead wouldn't use such so called" Love tactics " to stop the male lead from turning into a devil god. Li Su Su's choices only seem to trigger the evilness within the male lead sooner. The female lead easily gives up the male lead. I don't find that clever and impressive at all. That's so dumb of the female lead because with her choices she's only achieving the opposite of what she needsneeds (even from her mission point of view).
It is her mission, and with his behaviour he made her lose hope she can change him. No matter if its due to misunderstandings,…
So true. This Li Su Su keeps annoying him and sending him on insane mode with her words and choices. I noticed a pattern. He gets crazy or mentally unhinged whenever he is pushed away or abandoned by Li Su Su. Anyway, she has room for no other man. Why can't she at least tell him the truth instead of saying and doing things that makes him more vulnerable to evil. The evil always seem to attack him whenever he gets emotionally upset.
FOOD for THOUGHT: For those who think TTJ is not evil, have you ever thought about where he gets his powers from?…
He had a harsh life. That was the only way he could boost his power. Also, there was no one to protect him. He was surrounded by assassins and betrayers all the time. His life would've been pathetic if he didn't take the chance to seize power. In addition, the love thread was yet to sprout in his heart. And he wasn't completely enlightened yet. Also, if you find all this immoral, in real life too, in ancient times, people with power, especially rulers, did behave unscrupulously like Alexander, Asoka etc. They're are still called great. I guess because apart from destroying cities and civilizations like Persian cities, Kalinga etc, they also did some wise deeds especially Asoka the great emperor did a lot more wise, good deeds(like building Buddhist monasteries after engaging in a genocide war) compared to Alexander ( who built good libraries, used to hang out with philosophers, forgave an enemy(Porus)btw). So, I guess, in such cases, their good deeds offset the bad deeds in the ancient world. You can judge Tantai Jin's actions along the same line. He lives in a world that's more like our ancient world (but with fantastical things, scenarios). This is more like the story of Tantai Jin's evolution. Our real life ancient world was flexible where people were more flexible and practical rather than be too rigid. They made decisions depending on what the scenarios demanded. Fantasy world is flexible too where author /screenplay writer has room to experiment with ideas...
Just to clarify, YXW was sent back in time to destroy his evil bone and kill him, not save him.
Yeah. I too recall Ji Ze instructing Ye Xiwu to remove Tantai Jin's evil bone so that he isn't evil anymore. Ji Ze doesn't specifically state that taking out the evil bone will 'kill' Tantai Jin. But again, later in the drama, we see Ye Xiwu saying, "farewell" before she tries to drive the final three nails into his heart. So I'm also confused regarding whether taking out the evil bone will kill only his evilness or will it kill Tantai Jin.
Though I love Cang Jiumin too, I badly miss the dark Tantai Jin. Hope Cang Jiumin turns into the new devil god who knows how to be merciful at the right moments 🙂
Hope to see xiao lin & ye bingchang fall in love truly, sincerely this time.
In the dungeon scene, I absolutely agree with Tantai Jin when he told Ye Xiwu that his pain was greater than hers. Actually, while reading the novel too, I felt the same.
So , watched episode 26 with mixed feelings. I was frustrated with Ye Xiwu (even though I know the reason behind her sudden reversal of feelings). I was frustrated with the way this Ye Xiwu character always jumps to assumptions about Tantai Jin. This time, her assumptions about the little devil god can be justified to some extent, but still, it was not like she kept approaching & helping him with honourable, pure intentions from the beginning anyway. I strongly feel the heartless one was Ye Xiwu in the drama. As for the story in the novel, Ye Xiwu was equally heartless as Tantai Jin (just in a different way than the way he was to her). I strongly deduced from both the novel and drama that Tantai Jin’s love for Ye Xiwu is deeper than her so -called love for him. In fact, based on what I read in the novel, and based on what I saw in the drama, the female lead kept making choices and saying things that pushed Tantai Jin more and more to the dark side resulting in Xiao Lin’s death. It’s as if the heroine is a highly skilled all rounder and good at everything except knowing how to handle an emotionally unstable lover-like- enemy, Tantai Jin😅. As fas as I see, both in the drama and novel, especially in the drama, Tantai Jin is not heartless at all — not as heartless as Ye Xiwu anyway. She keeps pushing him, and the mounting misunderstandings keep pushing him to become more cold, heartless. I really like the drama version of Tantai Jin. I don’t like all aspects of the version of Tantai Jin in the novel, but I started liking that version of him more from the moment the author describes him embroidering the veil for his wedding with Ye Xiwu. Actually, I kind of understand why Tantai Jin in the novel behaves the way he does in the novel. Although that darker version of Tantai Jin isn’t that likeable or pitiable or adorable like the fluffier, cute drama version of Tantai Jin, I realised that I admire, and like the male lead a little bit more than the female lead in both drama and novel.
Anyway, I have a love -hate relationship with both Ye Xiwu and episode 26. Episode 26 made me frustrated, but also made me excited. So many things happened. Episode 26 was so entertaining, epic, intense. I have never seen the lead actors in a xianxia drama become so expressive when they get agitated. The dungeon scene was mind- blowing! Also, I absolutely loved the way Xiao Lin expressed what all he had to say about everyone including Tantai Jin in his final letter. I also absolutely felt touched by the way he took time to talk about Ye Bingchang’s sensitive nature. I was also touched by the way he sent the heart guarding scale to Tantai Jin. I absolutely love that character, Xiao Lin. He was so noble, wise and empathetic. Will miss this character!
I like anti heroes but I think I really like the TTJ in the drama more because the novel version sounds too dark.…
I like both versions, but if he were like in the novel, I 'd find his transformation into his better self towards the end of the drama more believable. Also, I don't have a problem with tormentous, torturous romances with anti- heroes who'll change into their best, positive, good versions in the end and their love stories will get a happy ending.
In my opinion, if everything reflected reality, then this wouldn't be a 'fantasy love story'.
But again, I don't have a problem with this drama. I like both versions --- novel & drama.
Looks like they made thr drama version of Tantai Jin softer than the novel version of that character. Love both versions of Tantai Jin, but I think had they chosen not to tweak the novel version of Tantai Jin character, it'd have made the character of Tantai Jin in the drama even more intense, believable as an anti-hero.
But I like the drama version of Tantai Jin too He's sweet and adorable. Hope Ye Xiwu will be more considerate towards Tantai Jin in the drama adaptation compared to the way she was in the novel.

Maybe that possibility was possible.
So I'm also confused regarding whether taking out the evil bone will kill only his evilness or will it kill Tantai Jin.
I like his powerful, badass , crazy side more, mixed with sufficient dosage of goodness whenever it's only absolutely necessary.
😄
Hope Cang Jiumin turns into the new devil god who knows how to be merciful at the right moments 🙂
