Title Song of the Moon Spoiler
I mean... people think he stupid that because he think lou ning love he na... not just because giving her the…
A Fu & Luo Ning's relationship development is complex from the start. He has her priorities & she has her difficulties & duties. A Fu needs to keep many secrets to accomplish his bigger mission as well as to get the girl, so in the past uptill that point in that episode, he couldn't be straightforward with Luo Ning all the time. And A Fu also knows Luo Ning never approves of his schemes or his choices though she understands his situation. His goal is to not make her leave him by hiding the truth, and at the same time protecting himself as well as his clan. Even He Na also keeps protecting A Fu before, during, and after the battle in the desert . There is dramatic irony at play here. We as audience know many things about Luo Ning's and He Na's good intentions, but A Fu doesn't because his dear ones reveal only the half truth to him --- not the full truth to him & keeps provoking him at the same time. That was not a good strategy. This has made their whole story complex, and in this situation, no one can be reasonable, perfectly righteous and clear-headed. There is no room for black and white choices. He Na wants to protect both A Fu and Luo Ge because he loves his brother and cares for his best friend at the same time. So, He Na never reveals A Fu's hiding place to Luo Ge and other immortal people immediately. He prefers to first try & see whether he can sort out the misunderstandings himself. Luo Ning before and after her selective memory loss can't stop loving either A Fu or Luo Ge, so in the end she chooses to protect both of them till her last breath. A Fu chooses to go ahead & confront his enemies or whoever stands in the way of lifting the curse on his clan, but he chooses not to take a hard stance against Luo Ning and keeps her with him even though that'll only logically lead to more problems for him. Luo Ge talks about his wish to see his sister marry her beloved, but whenever Luo Ning tries to speak favourably of A Fu, he used to send her straightway to her room because A Fu's past actions makes Luo Ge biased towards him. Had Luo Ge listened more to what his sister had to say, gave in before & spoke to A Fu face to face about the curse situation ( which he brought upon the clan when he was god of the moon),perhaps, things would not have come to a an impasse. So, I think all major characters were being unreasonable, biased here( and they were right too from their own respective viewpoints). Thus, none of them were being stupid in episodes, 34 & 35, especially A Fu Jun in the 'Phoenix tears scene'. And the way the plot progressed uptill episode 37 has made the story of this drama so complex that's it's downright silly to judge all morally grey characters especially A Fu Jun using feminism & other modern ideologies & -isms.
So, I strongly disagree that A Fu was being stupid in that particular scene.
Anyway, I have stated my views here because we all have our freedom to state our views here supporting, opposing or defending a character.
If people continue to disagree with me, they can, because they are free to do so. But I have my own strong views too regarding this character , A Fu, & I choose to stick to those.
I strongly deny that A Fu was acting stupid in the 'Phoenix tears scene' . From his point of view, he was taking extra precautions because Luo Ning's provocative comments and comparisons of him & his brother, and the dialogue, "why can't I choose him? " really shook & shocked A Fu. In fact, uptill that point, A Fu was still hoping against hope somewhere in his mind that Luo Ning was just hating him for the timebeing and doing all this to teach him a lesson because she was angry and disapproved of his decisions. However, after A Fu heard Luo Ning vehemently praise He Na right in front of him, his mind shook --- his belief in her love for him shook. He blurts, " So you'd made up your mind long back." Perhaps A Fu assumed this new love for He Na must be something Luo Ning pretended to be in or invented for a while. Bur her angry words make A Fu really doubt their relationship --- especially in that complex scenario, it's hard not to. And the way Luo Ning spoke made him feel as if she was trampling all over not only his heart, but also his ego & dignity.I strongly think A Fu doubts only the depth of Luo Ning's love for him. I don't think he ever doubted her character.
But yes, A Fu was stupid in thinking that he can keep his enemy's sister forcefully near him while he goes on to accomplish what he wants. When another person is involved, things needn't truly work out the way A Fu wants, but thankfully Luo Ning chose to love A Fu without killing him( unlike the main leads' ending in episode 40). That's what I love about A Fu Jun-Luo Ning's love story in this drama. They chose to live each other without killing each other for some grand cause etc. I liked the way the writers designed their story except the ending part( I prefer a satisfactory happy ending for them) .

Anyway, the main points I want to convey: 1) A FU WAS NOT ACTING STUPID IN THE 'PHOENIX TEARS SCENE'.
2) A Fu only doubted Luo Ning's love for him. I don't think he had time to doubt about her character because he had a lot of other things on his mind.
3) A Fu lured Luo Ning into drinking Phoenix tears because she unintentionally, in her anger, trampled all over his heart & ego. He lost his mind because he was tremendously hurt. Her words make A Fu ASSUME HE NA IS HER BELOVED ONE, AND SHE NEVER BOTHERED TO REVEAL THIS EARLIER. So, he is tremendously hurt, sad, and livid with rage. A combination of these emotions makes A Fu behave that way. This scenario is not something to be judged using the lens of feminism or other modern ideologies or notions.
3) A Fu already has a lot of problems on his plate. The last thing he wants is for Luo Ning to continuously pester or betray him ( because she has made him convinced that she wants nothing to do with him, so he thinks she'll betray him even if we audience know that's not the case) when he is in the middle of carrying out important tasks targeting his enemies. Also, now that A Fu assumes nobody is left in the world to love him, protect him, or forgive him, his mind now only has room for thoughts about how to accomplish his mission at any cost and then perhaps, die. At that point, A Fu perhaps keeps Luo Ning near him not only to lure his enemies, but maybe because it also somehow calms his battered mind and ego by thinking about their shared innocent, simple past.
If you disagree with me, we can go on and on, but I shall only stick to my views, because I have my strong views about this morally grey A Fu character just like you have yours.

Title Song of the Moon Spoiler
I just rewatched episodes 34 & 35.
Unlike what certain people think, A Fu did not give Luo Ning Phoenix tears because he was stupid. He gave Luo Ning phoenix tears because he thought He Na was her beloved one. A Fu knows that drinking Phoenix tears can make anyone forget their most beloved one( with whom they are romantically involved). Before she gets forcefully married to A Fu, Luo Ning tells A Fu that He Na is better than A Fu. This makes him think that He Na is now her beloved one, and she has changed her mind. So, A Fu lures Luo Ning into drinking the Phoenix tears to make her forget He Na( whom A Fu thinks is the most beloved one for her). Maybe, A Fu does this, so that they can start over or to easily control her while he's busy carrying out his plans elsewhere. She may be less of a trouble & cause less problems for A Fu if she doesn't remember her beloved He Na.
At that point, A Fu was under the assumption that Luo Ning no longer loved, and chose to live his brother, He Na instead. Luo Ning tells the truth that A Fu is her most beloved one & not He Na, only when she goes in panic mode as she starts to sense the effect of the phoenix tears.

That's when A Fu learns the truth, and perhaps regrets pouring the phoenix tears into the wedding drink of Luo Ning.

The message I want to convey here: 1) A Fu was not being stupid when he decided to make Luo Ning drink Phoenix tears.
2) A Fu thought He Na was Luo Ning's most beloved one( in the romantic sense). So, the best way to change Luo Ning's heart is to make her drink Phoenix tears so that she forgets He Na.
3) A Fu learns the truth that he is, in fact, Luo Ning's most beloved one ( in the romantic sense) a little too late, because Luo Ning reveals the truth to A Fu a little too late ( after she drinks Phoenix tears --- after she deliberately makes him misunderstand, perhaps because she was angry).

Am i the only one who likes A Fu character? Without him and his fairy this drama would be boring.
I love A Fu character very very much!
Next comes immortal Luo Ge , then god of the moon, then darker version of god of the moon.

I loved Zhang Binbin's acting skills in episode 36. His expression while he was crying as he watched his sister vanish in front of him while she lifted the curse on the aquatic clan really touched me. His acting skills & his expressions were superb in that desert clip!
It was as if the actor was really in emotional pain although he's just portraying the role of Luo Ge & not really Luo Ge. But Zhang Binbin's sorrowful expression in that moment made me feel as if the actor had become the character... Or maybe got completely immersed in the character just like Johnny Depp for Jack Sparrow.

OMG I LOVE THAT POSTER!!!!But was this a cut scene...? πŸ’”πŸ’”
I like god of moon's midnight blue & white costume.
When I watched episode 36 preview, I was under the impression that Luo Ge got deified as god of the moon & Liu Shao also got the power of the sun or immortality or enhanced powers etc. I thought they were showing the future. ..
I'm not exactly sure whether they showed flashbacks or the events that'll happen, in episode 36. I can decide about that only after I watch episode 36.

Anyway, I have always loved the costume of the main leads and some other main leads right from the time the show started to focus on immortal & demon realm...

Oh. In that case, It'd be nice.

But judging from their costumes, I think this is a cut scene from episode 27.

But if it'll be shown again, that'll be a treat!

SMH. Why doesn't He Na just hand over the demon king position to A Fu and told him to marry Luo Ning and promise…
Yup & to see & be with Luo Ning.
If Luo Ning also understood this...things would've been less complicated & messy. Even his brother, He Na can see everything clearly & A Fu too. Luo Ning messed up everything with her idea to marry He Na & this time He Na gave in. He Na could've persuaded A Fu once more to accept the demon king position back then & reveal Luo Ning's plan to A Fu to make A Fu agree & behave. He Na could've threatened A Fu that'll he marry Luo Ning if A Fu doesn't stop his scheming. Luo Ning could've done the same too. She could've given A Fu a warning or even tried persuading him by finding some alternative solution which doesn't emotionally hurt A Fu. . A Fu would've definitely listened as long as it helps lift the curse. What I don't understand is why didn't A Fu think about marrying Luo Ning as demon king to lift the curse when He Na suggested passing on his position to A Fu? That'd have been the easiest solution. I guess, A Fu's pride & brotherly love got in the way of his logical thinking at that moment. He Na always says that his brother talks before he thinks. Maybe A Fu rejected He Na's offer of power transfer without thinking too much & now he regrets it?
Maybe if He Na made the offer of power transfer once again to A Fu after Luo Ning's break up with A Fu, he might have accepted it. The plot could've been written that way too...

There was a moment in episode 27/28 when A Fu even apologized to Luo Ning when she reminded him that he was behaving like the previous demon king 10,000 years back. Had Luo Ning been more straightforward about her plans with A Fu, things would've proceeded in a smoother manner.
I think the plot could've been written in a better way.

A Fu's resolve to conquer the three realms & confront Luo Ge started to strengthen only after Luo Ning crushed his water pearl despite his pleadings that he'll only use his water pearl just to visit her, hereon. This happens in episode 27 or 28. But because A Fu deceived Luo Ning a number of times before, she has trouble believing him. Can't fully blame her there. Perhaps if Luo Ning believed him at that time , A fu might not have been so bent on conquering the three realms by creating chaos by proceeding to help resurrect the darker version of god of moonlight buried beneath the four seasons monument who promised to lift the curse for A Fu. There is no one else to help A Fu at this point except the dark version of god of moonlight( who keeps reminding Luo ge that they are similar in many ways or will be soon...)
